Guys and gals, if I purchase the n300 mini wireless USB adapter will I get internet connectivity with my humax hdr? Is this easy to set up and do you get many services with it?

As far as I am aware the USB ports on the Humax HDR Fox-T2 (I assume this is what you are talking about?) are for storage devices only. You cannot use a WiFi dongle with it. The only way to connect to a router is via the ethernet port.

However this need not be only a cable connection. You could use a WiFi adapter with ethernet port or a pair of Homeplug type adapters.

    For example

    or

By n300 do you mean NetgearN300 Wireless USN adapter? Assuming we are talking about an HDR-FOX T2 then only certain Wireless USB adapters work; the one supplied by Humax http://www.humaxdirect.co.uk/product.asp?ProdRef=96026 and others that use the same chipset such as the Edimax EW-7711UTN (and other EW-7711 variants) eg Link to Amazon
I would not get the Netgear product unless you are confident that it will work or can return it if it doesn't. Much safer to get something known to work.

Yes you can use a WiFi dongle; Humax supply one and others with the same chipset work.

Hmmm interesting. There is no mention of using a USB dongle in the manual that I can find. All the references to USB mention storage devices only. And searching the PDF download from Humax for WiFi or Wireless didn't produce any hits.

Don't recall seeing any reference to WiFi in the set-up of my Fox-T2. Have to have a look when I get in front of it again.

I vaguely recollect that the WiFi dongle was not available when the HD products first went on sale which probably explains why it isn't mentioned.
