We could only watch school programmes as there was no daytime telly then.... "How we used to live" was my favourite.

Exactly the same with me, no daytime tv then apart from Watch With Mother. "How We Used to Live" was a real treat, I loved it. I have been trying to get the series on DVD, but they keep putting off bringing it out for some reason.

I would love to see it again, my mum would never miss it..... We never actually watched it at school thought which was a bit daft.

I'm with Opaque! I LOVED Crown Court and it felt VERY grown up to watch it when I was off sick (which unfortunately was very rare).

    Crown court
    Lets pretend
    Pebble Mill
    A country kitchen???
Some rubbish with women gossiping about sewing patterns
    Look and read

I loved 'The Sullivans' The only ever decent Australian soap.

'Houseparty' the gossiping women? they were more bitchy than the 'Loose women' lot today.

Didn't have a telly, sob sob!! Although I don't think there wasn't much daytime telly in the mid to late 60s.

    Going for Gold
    Kilroy

    There you go. That's it.

Wow is that what it was called? That's a bit hip for a boring 80s show.

I'd also like to add Take the high road now someone else has reminded me of it :D

Anyone know what the one was with some fella with a beard in a shed with a horse and cart in the credits?

Yes, that was brilliant. I remember watching repeats of Callan whilst skiving off as well.

Emmerdale Farm (as it used to be called) started off in a daytime slot, but I always found it boring.

Houseparty had a terrible old harridan in it, she used to talk down to the other women like Hyacinth Bucket, she even looked like her, my mum was always shouting at the TV because they did useless stuff like making dolls out of cornflake boxes or paper mache armchairs.

I had fogotten about 'Take the high road' too.
    Who remembers 'Rooms' and 'Gems'?

I loved this...it was really annoying when being forced back to school before the verdict!

And Graham Kerr, the Galloping Gourmet!

It's almost my specialist subject. My poor mum used to have to collect me from infant school to take me home for lunch as I refused to eat the school food. Therefore I saw an awful lot of shows that a lot of us wouldn't have seen very often.

There was also a period in the mid '80s where my school operated a compressed day due to indutrial action. Was home before 2pm every day so I got to see them all over again!!

    I think I watched:
    Pingu
    Look and Read
    Countdown
Can't really remember much else, I was excited when we finally got cable though. Used to love watching Disney Channel programmes like:
    Smart Guy
    Teen Angel
    The Proud Family
    Even Stevens
