To be honest, I think her management are trying to throw us off the scent and that the album is closer than they're letting on. Probably some kind of stupid surprise release strategy.
It's possible. First they said it would be this year, then they said the album is not ready and now they're saying it's ready. Maybe the album is ready to release but no date is announced and they're gonna pull a Beyonce with the release. I guess we won't really know for sure.
Britney doesn't have a clue what she's talking about. She lays down some vocals in the studio, her team process them and put them to a beat, slap her face on an album cover, make her dance in a video, they release the album and that's it. She probably couldn't even name half the tracks on her last album. She's the absolute epitome of 'music industry puppet'.
Apart from the fact she co-wrote every track on her last album, was Executive Producer of 'Blackout' and is, according to Keri Hilson "not the puppet people think she is". It's been said more than once that Britney has more control over her music than you'd think.

As a non follower of Britney but being aware of some of her public history, I just find it great that she looks so darn happy in the video shoot and really energetic and engaged.

I'm a big Britney fan and it's really a mix of both. We want new music and the song does sound good. It reminds me of her Blackout album a bit. :cool:
Great to see Britney back with new music, she rarely ever fails to deliver a good pop song, and I'm hoping Pretty Girls is no exception, it should be a cool and fun summer song! Also, I hope the video has some good dance moves from Britney...
