A mother age 59, described by her son as a doddery old lady.?

"It's my birthday today but life must go on" said the son. An interview removed from the ITV site it seems.

Elaine Harrison stepped off her canal boat in Nottingham and has vanished.

"Please come and watch littlie one in the Nativity play, pleaded her daughter, with a smile on her face." Me, me, me.
If you don't believe it watch the video.

This is what I would plead.

"Mum, I don't give a toss about nativity plays or anything else. Life has stopped since you've been gone. All I want is to hold you and love you as you've always loved me. Please come home, nothing else matters.

It's a strange one as on the canal forums is mention of a husband.

So many opposing views as well. Elaine was strong/Elaine was depressed

I fear the worst.

The reaction from her kids makes me sick. It's all me.

As you're following the son, why did he say he had to get on with his life?

Is he still in the South or has he gone to Nottingham to search?.

Was the kid traumatised that Grandma wasn't at his Nativity play?

    Of course not.

    A very strange family.

    What is wrong with you?

Life does go on, like it or not! I would think he has his own kids who want to spend a birthday with their dad, "Sorry kids, I'm doing nothing until your nan turns up" doesn't cut it.

As for nativity plays, part of an appeal is to remind someone of the reasons they have for coming home. Being missed at Xmas is a big one I'd have thought. Reminding her she has grandchildren who would love her to be a part of their important occasions is absolutely right.

I'm sure the kid did miss their grandmother, how mean spirited of you :(

Can't say I have noticed anything odd. Just a man desperate for news of his mum and keeping her in people's minds. Lots of tweeting local famous people/ place to try and drum up support and raise the profile. @AndyHarrison80 is his twitter if you want to see for yourself

Is this a personal issue for you, OP? All I see is a family bewildered by their mother's disappearance and pleading for information as to her whereabouts.

The fact she left her houseboat without her bag or phone, is worrying.
