Those poor poor babies, so upsetting.

I really have no words for these people that have done this.

How can they possibly think they are doing good? They are sub human scum.

To them the Pakistan government is a threat to their way of life therefore they believe that attacking anything related to the government is good.

Didn't say it had to make sense but its the same 'logic' you see every day even in 'civilised' countries let alone one where religious nutters with guns hold sway

    Horrible,
Their moral justifcation for anything they do was already in the negative but this totally blows away any validity in their actions. You know things are messed up when they say they did this in retaliation for military activity against them. Cowardice. There's no right-minded person alive right know who thinks killing children is ever justifiable.

Yes. Any government, any hint of democracy or equality of opportunity is a threat to them because they have a feudal 'old man' power base that will vanish if their medieval control system is disabled.
A variety of versions around the world, all choosing soft targets.

Reminds me of the dreadful Russia Beslan school hostage crisis in 2004 where at least 385 hostages were killed as a result of the crisis, including 186 children, There was a documentary made some years later and as such it was the most harrowing and disturbing thing I've seen on TV.

Totally different. Beslan was more like the Sydney seige yesterday. In this case the intent was murder rather than hostage taking

Where they just "happened" to cause 385 deaths. Not a lot different IMO.

It's heartbreaking. Stories coming out now go the killing children cowering under desks and killing a 2 year old who was visiting.

How is it possible to think of negotiating or coming to terms with this?

Islamism like nazism and the Khmer Rouge is just an evil that needs to be eradicated and of which we should be continually wary. .

How the hell can any human gun down innocent children? They had no intention of taking hostages just to kill as many children as possible.

And they won't realise now that they won't be going anywhere and there will be no virgins waiting.
They are the lowest of the low. They picked on children. I hope the murdering pigs died in pain.

Funny that all this bile has been directed at these scum yet when they end up in Guantanamo they suddenly become victims who we are meant to feel sorry for

Because not everyone in Gitmo is one of those 'scum'. That's the problem with its existence.

How do you know if they are or aren't thats the problem , the question is would you prefer one innocent to be detained in Guantanamo or 124 children murdered ?

Sorry but the excuse of doing a computer course in Afghanistan doesn't work

But some of them were, and how do you tell the difference? I don't think anyone believes it's a black and white situation (unless it's The Guardian).

The militants say they targeted the school because the army targets their families and they "want them to feel our pain".

Why children go for the army. They are sick cowards just like a stick of rock evil all the way through
Thoughts are with the poor families and friends

These perpetrators weren't ever in US custody, so I'm not sure what the point of such a wildly emotive question is. By that rationale we should arrest every Muslim in the world just in case.

They've already released several inmates of Gitmo after years of imprisonment with no charges. Its existence is a diplomatic embarrassment, but it has nothing to do with this massacre so I'm not sure why it was even brought up.

These Taliban members should be wiped out by the Pakistani Army and/or anyone else willing to help, I'm sure we can all agree.

The reason that so many Taliban aren't in Guantanamo is because bleeding heart liberals whinge and moan when these scum are incarcerated , you either have them imprisoned or you have them slaughtering , its one or the other

What do you think the (not very successful) Afghan War was for?

Because they are backward, savage dirt-dwellers who have no ambition in life apart from scrabbling round the arse end places of the world in grubby robes and tatty sandals shooting at stuff and praying.

The war was to line Blairs pockets but thats not the point , ever since the dawn of civilization there have been wars and enemy combatants captured during the war have been kept as prisoners till the war war was over , why is it suddenly wrong to detain terrorists until that war is over ?

It's amazing how far some people will go to justify deliberately attacking innocent people and it's usually a variant of "for the greater good". The Guantanamo report shows that even "democratic" governments are not above deliberately targeting and attacking innocent civilians if they convince themselves it's for the greater good.

Do you really think the war will ever be over? That one day we'll wake up and they'll be no more terrorism?

The West is losing the war against these people and unless we start doing what is needed we will lose and they will win so yes the war will end one day , just not the way I want it to
