Our local corner shop is always open on Christmas day. Failing that our Spars opens too. Whether they sell french sticks or not I dae ken. You could always pop over to France? :p

You can try a small corner shop and if they have one though it wont be fresh as bakeries will be closed so either a bit stale or buy a frozen baguette , or better still you could buy one today when everywhere is open.

Basic answer is "hardly anywhere". If you have an asian local shop you might be lucky and find them open and with some in stock, but pretty unlikely.

Maybe some in a local Co-op if you go now.

    You can.
Get a stick and ask someone to hold the bread still.

Its my guess that he has one really, in fact he has probably bought half a dozen just to be on the safe side, but he tells us he hasn't got one for the sympathy vote.;-)

In the olden days when I used to stock up for Christmas I used to buy those part-baked baton type French sticks that you stuck in the oven

They were fantastic to eat while they were still warm with brie or camembert and butter.........

I'd always think 'oh, I should get these all year round'.......but never did !

If you've been nice and not naughty then bung it on your letter to Santa, he's heading our way.
