Songs sung on Over The Rainbow?

Given that its to get the part of Dorothy, I would have assumed that all of them would have sung songs from The Wizard of Oz, rather than different songs (if they want to sing different songs, they should have turned it into an X Factor type of programme).

This way, the judges can all make equal decisions and the girls get the same treatment (in terms of judging).

What are your thoughts on this?

Should they all sing the same songs from The Wizard of Oz or is it ok for them to sing different songs?

    I don't watch the show, so can't really comment, but to my knowledge there are 10 or 11 contestants, with one going out each week.
    How many songs does Dorothy sing in Wizard of Oz?
    Wouldn't the show get boring if each contestant sang the same few songs each week?

    Dorothy only really sings somewhere over the rainbow and follow the yellow brick road. I dont think i could cope with hearing either song 11 times in one week
