Some sad news that Betty Smith who was part of BBC Radio Humberside's Beryl and Betty show a few years ago has died. Not unexpected of course as she was 93 but still sad,

I used to enjoy her shows on Sunday afternoons and seemed to genuinely enjoy what she was doing and was a good listen.

They got a Sony radio award in 2012.

A sad day indeed for anybody involved with Radio in Hull. I had the chance to meet both her and Beryl a couple of years ago, and know their producer David.

As Darren's said, it was a lovely tribute Look North did yesterday night, and as a bit of a tribute I'll be having a chicken dinner and playing some Michael Buble in honour.

(regular listeners will understand the signifigance of that comment... :) )
