DS Fantasy Eurovision 59: Voodoo in Vaduz

In the past weeks we've been to Kazakhstan and back to Finland however this time the maze of DSFE took a surprise turn and this time round we ended up in Liechtenstein!

Lets give it up to Michael Schulte who has just become a second-time winner with his song The Maze.

In a little over a week it's that time of year again, yes, that's right, it's Halloween! On the 31st October millions celebrate the 'day of the dead' and surround themselves in horror movies, trick-o-treating and other ghoulish activities. However this year, we'll be partying it up with...

VOODOO IN VADUZ

Now lets get down to the boring stuff, the rules that will be strictly enforced throughout DSFE's stay in Vaduz as I know better than many how easy it is to get rowdy on Halloween! You must ensure that your song:
1. Does not exceed 5 minutes in length.
2. Was released after January 1st 2000
3. Did not chart in the UK Top 40
4. Was not previously in any DSFE contest, check the wiki for details.
5. Eurovision artists allowed as long as it's not the song that was performed on stage, same for NFs.
6. The artist must be from your country (unless if it's a microstate - rules applied), or have a connection through parents or grandparents ONLY. Any other connections will not be accepted. If you decide to send someone for a country due to a tie with parents or grandparents, please send me proof of the connection.
7. You must vote in the QF/SF that your country is in, otherwise your country will be disqualified.

I haven't yet decided which countries will and will not be participating because there's going to be a limit of 2 songs per person (unless under other circumstances ie. somebody doesn't get their countries in by the deadline). Because of this, the contest will be RANDOM COUNTRIES sorry to those who prefer picks.

To sign-up, send me a private message to me, (Carlisle156), expressing interest in signing up. I won't be replying to all sign-up messages, but I'll make sure to daily post a list in this thread with participants who I have noted have signed up so if you aren't on the list make that known! After the deadline has expired you will be given two countries, one typically 'good' country and one typically 'bad' country.

That gets me on to this ...

THE DEADLINE FOR SIGNING UP TO DSFE59 IS FRIDAY 24TH OCTOBER AT 6PM.

I look forward to seeing you all dressed up and ready to party in Vaduz! :)

If Turkey won I was going to do 'Batman: The Dark Night' as a Halloween themed contest  But glad you've incorporated the theme and Vaduz looks cute :3

Okay so having devised countries, there are 48 countries (without any microstates) as seen below:

    Albania
    Armenia
    Austria
    Azerbaijan
    Belarus
    Belgium
    Bosnia & Herz
    Bulgaria
    Croatia
    Cyprus
    Czech Republic
    Denmark
    England
    Estonia
    Finland
    France
    Georgia
    Germany
    Greece
    Hungary
    Iceland
    Ireland
    Israel
    Italy
    Latvia
    Lebanon
    Lithuania
    Macedonia
    Malta
    Moldova
    Montenegro
    Netherlands
    N. Ireland
    Norway
    Poland
    Portugal
    Romania
    Russia
    Scotland
    Serbia
    Slovakia
    Slovenia
    Spain
    Sweden
    Switzerland
    Turkey
    Ukraine
    Wales

This covers 24 signups. Then I have a provisional of 12 microstates on top of the above if we get more than 24 people sign up (which I hope we do).
    Faroe Islands - Denmark 2
    Jersey - England 2
    Aland Islands - Finland 2
    Monaco - France 2
    Liechtenstein - Germany 2
    San Marino - Italy 2
    Luxembourg - Netherlands 2
    Svalbard - Norway 2
    Andorra - Spain 2
    Gotland - Sweden 2

and the two unconventionals for 59/60:
    Gibraltar - England 3
    Kosovo - Serbia/Montenegro/Albania 2

This does mean that Nagarno-Karabakh will not be making its much awaited return, I'm afraid.

Various other countries are in place as a precaution however judging by the 26 who signed up last time I don't expect to exceed 30.

Cool :) Does that mean you want to do the recaps Mika? Only I have been working on the intro video for Vaduz tonight?

No. As I said previously I won't be doing the recaps again unless I win. ;-)

I would sign up but I am still on holiday and not back until Sunday, so that would probably be too late, though if we don't get sign ups and the deadline needs to be extended I will probably be able to join up.

Sign ups are low over in the over contest too, we could always just make it so everyone gets 3 countries if sign ups get too low too.

Judging by the lack of assignments I have over the next few weeks, I should be able to manage taking part, so I've provisionally signed up. :D
