Iplayer jams up

Despite getting a new Virgin 50 Mbps service, when viewing streams from iplayer from either of 2 different PCs, a regular momentary freeze happens in the picture every 15 seconds or so. The PCs are good spec, and the VM broadband fluctuates between 19 and 50 Mbps. If anyone has any ideas I'd be really grateful. Thanks
