I bought a bottle of vodka from "The Co-operative" earlier with my morning papers, croissants and milk....the vodka was for later but the stupid bitch at the checkout made me feel like an alcoholic "You're in for a good morning"....I am still a bit annoyed actually, I feel like complaining

You should. "I pay for goods and services, not unsolicited opinions from your staff about my purchases."

Saying "Ha Ha Ha, it's for tonight" should have solved the problem.

The staff at the Co-op (sorry, the Co-operativegoodwithfood) near where I used to live were always over-friendly and always ready with some predictable comment about the things you were buying.

    Perhaps it's just Co-ops?

Sounds like she was just making a joke, not judging you. Nothing to get offended or angry about.

However, I have bought vodka at that time for consumption in the morning so perhaps I wouldn't have been so bothered anyway.

It's more of an attempt at small talk than a judgement.

So she was trying to be friendly in a light hearted way and you take offence at that OP? Think this thread says more about you than her, especially you calling her 'a stupid bitch'.

Why, are you already drunk?

Did you buy the Daily Mail? That could be why she made that comment.

Bit of an over reaction i think. It is the kind of thing I would say and to be honest I would be green with envy.

She was only trying to be friendly.

My brother was once drinking a can of lager on the train at about 10am (after working a night shift and not having been to bed) and commented afterwards that people probably thought he was a tramp.

I once bought a bottle of wine on my way home from a night shift for later that night. I admit to feeling a little embarrassed when I took it to the checkout, and that was before any reaction from the checkout assistant.

Actually she didn't bat an eyelid.
