Adult Bullies

Anyone else come across one? It amazes me that some people just never grow up. I have a downstairs neighbour who is quite the bully, or rather tries to be. He likes to play loud music, slam doors , shout at his family but low and bold we walk too loudly...

Friends of mine also have some bullies at work , obviously these are people with deep rooted issues that are stuck in a playground mode. Any experience of these type of people yourself?

I would say its more like people who didn't make it into the police or armed forces or make it as whatever they thought their lives would be ie repressed feelings of failure taking it out on others.

Yes. The one I knew was very insecure ad craved attention/affection, yet couldn't help reverting to his aggressive offensive behaviour. A wide berth where possible.

Yep, lives down the street. I found out all sorts of dirt on him from his ex, his neighbor, and his estranged daughter. He's some piece of work. Apparently he was a chubby kid and got stuck in a kiddie swing and was called Nellie the elephant after that (his real name is similar to Nellie). I'd feel sorry for him if he wasn't such a complete and utter cock. It kind of explains his issues with fat people, I put up with nearly 2 years of verbal insults from him, although he'd keep his gob shut if anyone else was within earshot. He tried to "intimidate" me with his car one day, pretending like he was going to run me down as I crossed the road. He missed me by less than a foot and I got the police involved for that stunt. He wound his neck in a bit after that. He pulls faces at us if we walk past or if he drives by, behaving like the intellectual midget that he is.

Yep of course they exist. They're best ignored as then they usually get bored plus it is hard for them to play their usual excuse of it's you picking on them if everyone can see you don't want any trouble and haven't been doing anything while they're acting like an idiot.

I think the FM is asking about people who are not frequent DS contributers😄

    That really unhealthy.
Instead of wasting energy on the arse surprise him with a sharp smack to the head and a warning to "F*** off".
They're usually too stunned to respond.

It's tempting but I'd rather not get a record for assault.

The dirt given up by his ex and daughter was merely something they dropped in conversation when they gave us a lift home from judo one evening, I didn't seek her out or anything. His name came up because he lives on my street, she got talking and we swapped stories. Of course there are two sides to every story but his behavior doesn't do much to make me doubt her account.

Yes, I have a female one in my 'team', although it's not much of a team because staff in her section leave because of her, so it's constantly being rebuilt. Some really good people have moved on because of this.
She's not a manager or anything, but brings in a lot of money so the weedy bosses occasionally reel her in for a telling off, but she gets away with murder and the staff turnover hides her crimes.
I am probably the one person she is more careful around because I turn into Exorcist Marg whenever she makes the mistake of trying to bully me.
Last time she rang me up with a load of abuse and threatened to report me to her boss if I didn't do what she wanted, I waited until she paused then said "Right are you listening.... and shouted F -Off (in full) and ended the call, followed immediately with an email to her, her boss copied in, telling her to get on with her job and leave me to do mine.
She then sent the big apology full of :):):):) (yes that little shyte). But it means nothing.
It's very important to give bullies some 'werewolf' back when they start their nonsense because underneath it all they are cowards.

Just remember that they're unhappy thats why they are like that. Do your own thing and try to avoid them as much as possible.

Not really some people are born pri*ks and getter older does not change them in the slightest.

You get OAP's who are the same ars*holes that they have been since childhood but get a free pass because of their age.

    A t*sser is a t*sser.

What's my bus pass got to do with bullying?

Some bank managers and dole/benefits staff.
These people lead such sad, pathetic lives that the only thing they have to give them fulfilment is the rules and the power to close accounts and have you escorted out of the building and accuse YOU of being stroppy with them when they're being unreasonable. They do it because the power their jobs offers them is the only thing they have in their lives and everybody at work, on internet forums/social networking sites HATES them and they have absolutely no friends. They spend their free time at home going over the rulebooks with magnifying glasses and looking for the tiniest, most obscure rule then wrap them with cellophane and tossing themselves off all over them while chanting the following:-
    'Its the rules'
    ''I'm only doing my job'
'I don't make the rules' (but they get off on them as its the only thing, life and hobby they have)
'I can't help you if you're being abusive/rude' (while THEY'RE being unreasonable and won't listen to reason themselves)
'I have set targets to reach or exceed'
'It's more than my job's worth' (what would they do without their job, power, authority and rule books that come with the job?)
They also HATE being over ruled by far more understanding, sympathetic and down to earth superiors and go complaining to their boss's bosses or flounce off by resigning or threatening to resign (they won't be missed as nobody gives a toss about them and their obsession with the rules).

    Nothing. :D

I was making the point that some people never change no matter how old they are. :)

It's a strange thing that you can sort of pin point who 'could' be a potential bully from as young as 4. You can see them dominate and I have to add that it's very often not children without, it's often children who have too much be it material things or on a pedestal.

I can back this up -

    I'm not a bully and I was a delight as a child...

maybe stalking someone down the street is not endearing you to him? Why is his life your business?
