Agreed. How can he be unfortunate to run into players ranked that low? Someone ranked as high as that should be able to sweep players like that out of the way quick. Nadal has been very lucky for much of his career, I don't think his fans can say different. It's hardly a shame for him to bump into giants like Rosol and an injured Steve Darcis. But as I said, week 1 grass just isn't a good surface for him.

    Indeed.

It's not an FA Cup style draw where maybe you can run into top seeds early on

Rafa has criticised the time violation rule and umpire Pascal. He also said we don't need umpires anymore :

As a Rafa fan I really don't agree with this. Umpires are vital and he pushes things with the time violations a lot.

Anyway well done Roger. Predicted this morning he'd do it do. I'm glad. Now let's see how Stanimal gets on. He's a different kettle of fish now.

Yawn. If it's not what him and Toni want, he whines about it. Humble as ever hey? Spoiled brat is the only phrase that fits.

Anyway, so excited for the Stan vs Roger final. One handed backhand porn :D:p Sad for Novak though, he was clearly hurt but did the best he could.

I think he is actually kind of joking, I think he means that if the umpires can't be a bit understanding after long rallies then what is the point of them being there.

I really don't think that Rafa stands there and goes over the time on purpose and he understands that he needs to be faster but he also says that it will make things boring if players are not allowed a bit more time to recover after long rallies Jesus they are not robots.

Well done Roger it will be funny if he can get back to world no 1 after how everyone was writing him off last year and saying he should retire, I think I will put a bet on Roger to win Wimbledon this year. :)

Sorry for Nole having his wrist bad, hope it gets better soon.

It will be very interesting to see how Stan plays Roger now that things have changed or if Stan sill has that mental block when it comes to playing his good friend and fellow Swiss rival.

Stan has more belief now, I think he will give it all he has got. I would like Roger to win because he has never won Monte Carlo but I am also so pleased to see Stan playing well again after his post AO dip. Bring it on :)

Sorry but my sweetheart is NOT a spoiled brat. :p I think people are misunderstanding him big time probably because he finds it hard to explain things in English sometimes bless him.

Yep, blame it on his English. All the bratty comments he has made over the years is because he can't speak English. Wake up and smell the coffee Dee :p

Poor misunderstood, humble Nadal. Never breaks the rules on purpose no? Accident, no? Forever with broken foot as well no? :D I say again, he is a spoiled brat and I am guessing it's getting harder and harder for his fans to try and defend his actions. Must be exhausting.

If Nadal does lose at the FO, what is the betting he takes another holiday?

Well I'm annoyed. Had an unexpected visitor turn up and missed half the match! I've only just been able to catch up now. I was so looking forward to this one too. It looks like it became pretty one-sided in the end though so I suppose I didn't miss the momentum of an exciting match.

Poor Novak. Hope his wrist problem is not too serious. We'll see by the next tournament I suppose. He's playing Madrid, isn't he?

Not for me I love him and I can't see that he does any wrong. I am very worried about him at the moment though as I think that what happened to him at the Australian Open has caused a problem for him in his head I think he is scared to move freely and scared of serving in case something else goes wrong with him, I know this feeling myself as nearly every time I move I get something go wrong with my back and neck etc and Rafa to me has not been the same since the AO he says his back is better now but he is not his usual self and I think he needs to see someone to help him with what ever is worrying him.

It's a good job they don't have on court coaching for the ATP (at least most of them don't;-)) . Imagine how confusing that would be for Severine Luthi:)

Yeah he is supposed to be playing Madrid. Hope it's not too serious, he has refused to talk about it so far :(

This is the first time Stan and Roger have met in a final and the first all Swiss final since Rosset beat Federer in Marseilles in 2000.

Interesting. I hope they both play well, their style of play is so beautiful :) What are people's predictions? I'm going with a Roger win.

I'd like to see Stan win it, because he's never won a Masters level event before, and it will be good for him to have something to back up AO. It's too tempting for people to call it a fluke.

In fact, I don't think he'd ever won anything over a 250 until January.

The world fluke should be banned when describing anything in this sport. It's absurd how much people use that term to simply describe results they dislike. The bigger the achievement, the more it confirms how bitter you are if you call something a fluke. You wouldn't believe the things people have described as flukes in this sport :o

Stan won a slam, even if it doesn't happen again it doesn't mean it is a fluke. He won 7 matches to win it after all :)

Technically 6 as he had a walkover but your point still stands. He won the main one that matters-the final and he beat the defending champion so he thoroughly deserved it. I would never describe anything a fluke. If lfc (my team) win the league I would be disappointed for anyone calling it a fluke as we were the best over a 38 game period. Hows that a fluke?
