  £50 a week is a ridiculously high amount IMO.
  
  I didn't get any pocket money as soon as my NI card came through, I was given money for the bus to get to school, plus lunch money. If I wanted spending money I had to earn it, so I went and got a part time job.

  I only got allowance from my parents up to 16 and then I had to earn my money after that. Haven't taken a penny from them since.
