I don't think it's a slight on women's appearance in particular because averages don't really work like that. It's another maths thing.

For the third and final time. You never made a keyboard error, and he's not saying you did. His posts were not being pedantic they were being helpful.
If you are 5ft 3, your ideal weight is probably well under 9 stone. OH is 5'5'' and 9st 2, looks mighty fine to me. She's a size 10/12 depending on whose clothes we are talking about. Her BMI is mid range.
