Great comments for Misha tonight, but will she be safe?
Singing up next for your votes, it`s one of Georges boys and he is hurt. Get the plasters out. Singing a cover of Hurt by Johnny Cash….it`s Mike Ward!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IF0J0tZxLps
Mike
MY FAVORITE SONG IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! This is my absolute favourite song. And so as a massive fan of this song I have to say that was an ok rendition of the song. I do prefer the Nine Inch Nails version (Leona version) which goes epically higher up on the chorus, but tbh the Johnny Cash version suits your vocal perfectly because Mike does have noticeably lower range vocals – that’s where you’re more comfortable at and so this Johnny Cash song was perfect for you, and I did like the slight higher change at the end! However, unlike Johnny Cash I didn’t feel the passion in the song when you sang it. The song is about drugs, about paining others because of the addiction, about suicide and other things, I didn’t hear that amazing emotion in the song. However this is the first week and acts are trying to find their feet, so I can understand that. And I would like the country thing to come back though so George – if you can please let some of the wonderful sexy country singing comeback, because Mike is a sexy demon.
George`s comment
Mike
Mike Ward, i love that song and i love you. You sang it amazingly and i really hope the emotion and passion come across because after that i think you deserve to go through.
I would never have bet on a Johnny Cash song for you tonight. but I thought the low notes were glorious. Personally, I don't feel like you connected with the song so I couldn't connect with you singing it. But it was still a good performance
So quite good comments for Mike tonight. But will he be voted through?
Next singing is a Female Over who is all around me. Even under my bed. Singing All Around Me by Flyleaf…it`s Hayley Evetts!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bl1AXYOseuY
Hayley
WOW! That’s exactly what passion and emotion is! That song demonstrates how big your voice is. Your voice means you are perfectly suited to rock. So I’m making you my rock chick of the group. I hope everyone enjoyed that…because not only was that song brilliantly sung but you put so much passion and feeling into that! Your voice can hit all these high notes so effortlessly and is wonderfully strong (like Leona) in your upper register when you hit those high notes! You are my rock chick and if people like this direction please do pick up your keyboard and type away your votes to Pingu!

Hayley
I actually really liked that and to me that was the best of the night so far, so well done.
Matt Henry
Matt, I think that was a great performance in all honesty. I don’t really get where the other judges are coming from but you had a great time up there and that’s a main part of this show. Granted, not the strongest vocals but it’s Week 1 and there’s plenty of time to improve. Well done mate!
Michelle McManus
Michelle, I really don’t think this song suited you. You’ve got great vocals but I just don’t think they were utilised particularly well tonight. I just hope the public get behind you because I really like you. Good job, I just hope your mentor picks a better song next time.
Jahméne Douglas
Jahméne, I really didn’t understand the song choice. It was had great emotion, and your vocals were great but it just didn’t suit you in the slightest. A recurring theme tonight, good vocals but poor song choices. Good luck tonight, but I’m sure you’ll be safe!
Alys Williams
Alys, you are amazing! Your vocals are top notch and that song was just so beautiful. Good work tonight, I know you’ll go far.
Aaron Bayley
Aaron, I’ve got to admit I didn’t really know much about you before this show but I am now a big fan of your music and your vocals, and I think this was a pretty solid performance from you. A good version of the song in my opinion so I hope the public see this too. Well done mate!
Misha B
Misha, a good performance but it did feel rather anonymous. It didn’t really have that Misha gravitas if you know what I mean. It is Week 1 so I hope you improve a lot over the coming weeks because you could be a real contender. Good job.
Mike Ward
Mike, I feel this was a rather predictable choice as you do country, and Johnny Cash is very classic American country sounding. However, it was probably one of the best performances of the night and there’s no denying that. Absolutely amazing, great work!
Hayley Evetts
Hayley, I didn’t really know much about your style but after looking around a bit can I just say THAT WAS AMAZING! Great vocals, great performance, just great, great, GREAT! Fabulous, keep it up please!
I actually......didn't like that. How you turned from Whitney Houston to Flyleaf in one performance I don't understand. I know your mentor loves rock but you aren't the act for it in my opinion. Honestly, someone explain to me why this is happening...
So everyone loved Hayley apart from Kuda. Will the public agree?
Coming up next is one of Jacks Male Overs, and he doesn`t wanna miss a thing of the show tonight. Bless him. Singing I Don`t Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith….it`s Jamie Archer!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo_0UXRY_rY
Jamie Archer
I know exactly what everybody will say about this being a predictable choice for you tonight Jamie, but I think it is such a great song that suits you so well. Great vocals, great overall performance from you, really capturing the emotion of the song. So proud of that performance and I hope everybody in the voting gets behind you. Good luck and great work!
Jamie
I am a bit disappointed because this song has been used SO frequently on the actual show and on these games (used on the last game for Danyl by JJ if I remember)! And America is such a big open theme for you to do anything in – they’ve got so many rock bands – so much variety…You are a rock guy Jamie and a great one at that, as a rock chick myself I wanted to hear you do something different from the norm or changing up a classic like the others; I wanted you to do a great rock track which didn’t make you sound like any other artist but I didn’t get that…it still suited you so I do feel you should be given another chance. And I do love you.

Jamie
Jamie Archer and your giant afro, i loved that. It did feel maybe a bit dated but hey it was great and i loved it so just carry on being you. I just don't want you to become predictable so it would be great if you gave a song that really shocked us.
Predictable used for Jamie. What did you think viewers?
Coming to the stage next is a quirky girl who`s breath has been taken away at how far she`s come. Singing Take My Breath Away by Jessica Simpson…it`s Leah McFall!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MWFcfGi8QQ
I actually......didn't like that. How you turned from Whitney Houston to Flyleaf in one performance I don't understand. I know your mentor loves rock but you aren't the act for it in my opinion. Honestly, someone explain to me why this is happening...
She's got a voice similar to Melanie Masson - amazing big voice which is so strong that it was a choice she sings pop stuff instead of rock on the show. Not doing rock for the sake of it Kuds...just because she didn't do rock on the show - doesn't mean she's not capable of it!
Anyway am here but but cannot access my comments so it's best if Penguin please posts them for me.
Leah McFall
Leah, baby...please...what was that? It was a good performance yes, but really - Jessica Simpson? It just felt dated, but that was somewhat balanced out by your vocals, which are amazing by the way, but I just wasn't feeling that tonight. Sorry, but I really hope you stay in because you are fab.
You blew me away! Honestly, when your voice goes high, you sound heavenly and you've got sooo much potential to make an impact in this competition and in the real industry. Jack feels threatened, I know that - because you, Leah are about to take this show by a storm. Fasten your seatbelts everybody!

BIB - I don't feel threatened, I know Leah is much better than my acts. I was just giving some critique as I didn't really like the performance. Just a personal opinion, after all that's what we're all here to give.

As a big fan of the Berlin version of the song and slightly worried whenever someone covers this song because it’s one of those songs which makes its effect by being sung in a certain way (like Boomerang/Love on Top), I will say that was good! Leah you’ve got this wonderful whistle register - that wonderful upper register which sets you apart from everyone else! The end of the song was lovely because it was in a significantly higher register which was right up Leah’s street. I still want to see some more songs exposing that whistle register but tbh with what Kuda did last year with Heshima and Misha B just now – he will give you a crazy vocal performance I’m sure of it! Also I want a bit more jazz Kuds – because that’s where Leah shines (I Will Survive, Bang Bang – all jazz pop stuff that she did so well with).
