Bad news for Cameron - up 78k on previous year and increase in non-EU too. So much for getting it down to the tens of thousands. Not a hope in hell. Xmas has come early for UKIP.......

In other news the Daily Express has declared Winston Churchill, Boris Johnson, Prince Charles, Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg's children as migrants as they had foreign born parents.

668,000 NINOs issued to foreigners in the year to June 2014. Do they get three each?

Boris Johnson himself was "foreign born"...hence his argy bargy with the USA over his taxes thanks to dual citizenship/passport holding...as to his kids weren't most of them born what used to be called "the wrong side of the blanket" ;-)

does Dave get a slice of that pie also? when he stated in 2010 no "ifs or buts" by 2015 migration would be 100k?. that's why the entire subject seems like a shambles when someone makes a promised like that knowing EU migration cant be controlled it just gives UKIP an Open Goal and an Audience who is willing to believe everything they say.

If all these political commentators actually got outside Westminster for a few days and saw the reality NHS budgets being squeezed. Local councils etc people arriving getting a low paid job but then getting access to working tax credits and applying for a council house. All the focus has been put on out of work Benefits that's not the issue Companies are recruiting people knowing a low wage will be good enough to open up the working Tax Credits giving these people more money than they ever imagined

Why doesn't the government see a corolation between school places, streched NHS, housing shortage and mass imigration?

If we are apparently earning so much money from these immigrants why aren't we spending it?

is there an ulteria motive ? If not then why are we putting all this pressure on our country?

Isn't the figure of 260K higher than at any point under the last labour government.

I can't see why people think that UKIP will fade away, sooner or later a party that promises to end mass immigration will win a general election.

Because the UK needs a cheap labour force, to compete in the global market, Governments dont want high unemployment, because buisness can move buisness else were to get this cheaper workforce,

Dave said he would reduce net migration from ~ 250,000 to "tens of thousands".

To me, tens of thousands means 20,000 - 40,000 but it is subjective. It certainly does NOT mean 99,999 which is how it has been interpreted ever since. And he's even missed by several country kilometers.

Now if Dave just excluded foreign students from the immigration figures then net migration becomes....around 99,999. But he should really do it before Kwanzaa otherwise it'll be too close to the GE.

That doesnt answer the question of spending more on our schools NHS ext!! To cope with this amazing benifit of cheap labour!

These numbers are unsustainable, at what point do our politicians have to say the country is full, when the NHS collapses? When there is so little green space to build houses on? or is it up to the public to decide through the ballot box, in terms of UKIP holding the balance of power and forcing whatever party winning the next election to make an EU referendum an urgent priority. I think it is up to the public.

Politicians might use nos, but do we really think they wait 4 weeks to see their go, or struggle to get their kids into the school of their choice, or live in cramped towns. They are not as effected as us pleas.

Cameron cannot control EU immigration so he needs to stop lying.

So why don't UK businesses recruit some of the unemployed people in this country ?

There isn't, the number of NINOs = number of immigrants.

It doesn't take into account the number of emigrants, the difference of which, is the NET migration.

Don't you read the DM? UK school and university leavers can't read and write, can't do sums, can't make eye contact, don't know how to shake hands, speak Jafaikan, wear onesies for job interviews, and don't turn up for work at all or leave after a couple of days.

Because they can get better skilled people from Europe.

If you are a business which exports into Europe then it can be an advantage to employ native speakers of French, German, Spanish etc. How many unemployed multilingual British people are there?

At a time when the UK economy is growing faster than almost everywhere else in Europe then it is inevitable that people would want to move here to work, fewer would feel the need to leave and therefore net immigration was sure to go up.

    Inward Migration = 583,000
    Emigration = 323,000
    Net Migration = 260,000
    NINOs Issued = 668,000

    668,000 - 583,000 = 85,000

    Why?

For once Labour actually have the part of the EU solution.
Its Rampant here in Llanelli firms have offices dotted around Eastern EU countries that hire people there. Give them a private Rented house the so called "bunk houses". but a % of the wage is kept back to pay for rent on the house meaning the person is working so that opens up Tax credits/housing Benefit. The company gets basically a worker well below the minimum wage but the worker is still getting more money than they ever had in Home country.
