I liked Clover's cups. Granted they should have been deeper but they looked really nice and had the virtue of not being absolutely gigantic. Some of those cups looked about the size of your average mug at the local greasy spoon.

You are being misled by the god-awful English narrator's pronouncement of this Scottish lass' Irish derivation first name. Cait, with a gaelic fada on the a is always pronounced: Caught or Cawt. Not Coyt as in coyote.

This stuff always cracks Irish people up, DAAARA O'Brian is another.

It may well be a god-awful pronunciation - I'm happy to bow to your superior knowledge on that one - but other than that there's nought wrong with Ms Cox from where I'm sitting.

Very true, given this show seems to be mainly made up of hipster and metrosexual men. Cait makes a very pleasant change.

Very sad to see Elaine go. I thought she had some great skills and was refreshingly unhistrionic. If her lighthouse fountain was so off-brief why didn't they tell her earlier? Can't help but think she was penalised for the bowl breaking during firing, though that wasn't the reason they gave for her elimination.

Not the best week, this one. You'd think it'd be quite hard to make an ugly garden fountain but most of them were imo! The winner was by far the best tho I don't warm to the potter herself.

Elaine was my favourite as a person and one of the best potters - I know her fountain was off brief and she probably had to go but even then it looked better than most of the efforts.

It's a great pity that she's gone - especially when Cáit and Richard are still there.

And yes, Freya deserved to win this one.

Nam giving Clover his spare base was lovely. He's also quite funny too. Also like Richard a lot.

I was very sorry to see Elaine leave as I thought she was one of the best potters there and seemed really lovely.
I wasn't keen on this week at all and the water features were all a bit meh. Freya's was the best ( of a bad lot) so you deserved the star pot award this week.

I'm loving Nam. Nam and Freya and Clover are the only artists there. They have artist vision, the others are just very good at pottery. Love it when the guy cries. He's lovely!

Up to a point - cos giving Clover a base obviously left Elaine as the only potter without one. I know that wasn't given as the reason for losing but it didn't help.

Keith distinctly made the point that the base was not Clover's own and had been donated. Clover would have lost points for that and would have been at no more of an advantage than Elaine over that issue. The only upside for Clover would have been that she probably didn't feel so demoralised as Elaine. To be fair even if Elaine's bowl had survived I don't think she really fulfilled the brief re tiers. She was one of the better potters in general I think and left too soon but based on the brief the result was fair.

I like Richard but I think he is on borrowed time unless Cait has a mare with her time keeping again

Has anyone here tried making any pottery? Looks fun, but can't be cheap to get started and set up.

Yes I did it in school. It was great fun. Very therapeutic and rewarding. You have to be very patient though.

I tried it at the local art centre but gave it up after 15 minutes.
