Amazon Cloud Player

Is this spyware? I recently bought a couple of CDs that entitled me to free mp3 downloads, but when I opened up the player for the first time, it automatically began to search my computer for all of my music files to whisk them off into the Cloud. Now I don't know about anyone else, but software that has the ability to do this seems invasive in the extreme. If it can do this with music files, there's nothing to stop it from helping itself to your accounts and online banking details. I immediately uninstalled it.
