Agreed. Also Roy a great character, he has no faults and is genuinely lovely person. Felt sorry for him tonight :(
Also Roy and Hayley are one of my favourite couples on t'cobbles

He's so underrated, awards-wise. Hopefully with this current storyline and Hayley's upcoming departure :( we'll finally see him get the recognition he deserves.

    David Neilson is always reliable.

And to think that Roy was a creepy guy sniffing around Deirdre, when he first appeared in the show. He has certainly come a long way since.:D

    Agree Steve.
I also think that credit is due to the scriptwriters (who don't always get it right) for the scripts recently attributed to both Roy and Sylvia.
Thought-provoking and touching words from Roy tonight and delivered with aplomb by the wonderfully underrated David Neilson. And as for Stephanie Cole ... simply the best female actress in any soap. :)

Couldn't agree more. And with Julie Hesmondhalgh in the scenes too, we had three of the best (if not the best three) actors in Corrie, and a highly convincing and affecting script and story line.

it's weird David can act everyone else off the screen with a completely understated performance. Always brilliant.

    Great post, couldn't agree more.

Too late for this year, but I will be very annoyed if he is not nominated for next year's Award shows.

The train that Roy unwrapped looked very like one I bought my son in York last year. Three quid it was! If I'd know it was a collectors' item I would have been much angrier when he broke a bit off.

The way he patted Hayley's hand kindly while still telling her honestly that it was all her fault. That would be more heartbreaking than any of the insults the other characters hurl at each other.

Wholeheartedly agree. I think David is a brilliant actor and deserves recognition.

I think the definition of a great actor is that you forget they are acting and he was especially outstanding tonight.

I love Roy, one of the only characters across all soaps with any real morals and sincerity. Only a character but so believable and likeable as a result of such inspired casting

Love it when they show Roy with his carrier bag. I read a while ago that its his mothers bag and he uses it on the show. Includes the key on a string to his mams house. Just looked him up on wiki hells bells didn't think he was that old...

    21 September 1954....in the Street...makes him 59

Hes a pisces so he will be young looking :D

How are they going to engineer Roy and Hayley divorcing?

I saw online somewhere that Hayley
is going to die from cancer?
I put it in tags just in case?

I think Hayley dies, I can never imagine Roy and Hayley breaking up.
