How many cousins do you have?

I read yesterday that most people have no idea how many first cousins they have, which seems hard to believe. Do you know how many cousins you have?

I have 10 cousins but have only met 2 of them and spoken to another online, but this is because my dad has 5 siblings, 3 of whom I still haven't met.

    2. One's a university professor, the other MD of his own company. The latter has an orange wife.

I think I have 6 but I'm not completely sure.

Haven't seen any of them for several years.

I have two cousins. I have more siblings than cousins. Pretty easy to count.

But my husband has so many cousins, he can't even begin to count them. In fact, he struggles to count his aunts and uncles.

14 I know of, and possibly another 4 (previous marriages before I was born).

I also have 11 second cousins.

Then again, I do have 9 aunties and uncles.

    4 first cousins...

How could people not know? Unless they didn't know one of their parents I suppose..

I have at least 6 cousins. 3 on my mum's side from her only sibling. I don't know about my dad's side, he had 9 siblings, some of whom are dead. Most of my dad's side cousins are much older than me though.

My uncle had a marriage which broke down before I was born and I don't know how many kids he had, but I believe he did have kids. That's an example of how people don't know.

Also, an uncle died before I was born and I have no idea if he had any kids or not.

Well I've never met my dad, but met his mum for the first time this year, and her 99 year old mum too! She has 6 kids who all have several kids, most of whom have kids of their own, but my grandmother hasn't met some of her grandchildren so has no idea how many great grandkids she has :eek:

I have 5 on my mum's side of the family, who I see very regularly. I think we're maybe quite unusual in still seeing each other all the time and enjoying spending time with each other in adulthood. We all get on very well and enjoy taking the piss out of each other mainly. My chav cousins are on this side of the family.

I have 2 cousins on my dad's side of the family who we see a few times a year. I sometimes forget they are my cousins and describe the youngest from my mum's side as my youngest cousin...

My brother's girlfriend has no siblings and also no cousins, I think our family scare her.

My father has one brother. He has 3 kids, thus I have 3 cousins.
    How hard could it be?

1 There are nine people who I consider my cousins.
2 They are all descended from the only women I consider my my aunties.
3 My aunties are the sisters of my dad.
4 One has four sons, 5 one has three daughters, 6the other has a son and a daughter,
7 so I have five male cousins and four female cousins.
8 Only two of my cousins live near me.
9 they are descended from my aunty who has three daughters.
10 All my cousins are older than me.
11Six of my cousins have children.
12 All of my cousins have siblings who do not have children,
    13 but this will change.
14 Soon I will only have two cousins who do not have children.
    15 They are both single.

16Other people who are biologically related to me may consider me their cousin,
17 but I do not recognise them as being part of my family.
18They are only connected to me through biology,
19 which I was unable to influence.
20 I have not counted the amount of biological relatives I do not consider family.

    I have 14 living cousins.
    And 4 that are dead.
Plus 3 children of cousins that I am close to and call them cousins too (2nd cousins?)
Plus many children of cousins. And their children (some of my cousins are in their 60s).

9 on my dad's side and probably hundreds on my mother's Irish Catholic side. I've never met any of my mother's family so have no idea how many brothers and sisters she has.

My husband has 1 cousin (on his Dad's side) and that's it.

Haven't got the foggiest, both my Mum & Dad were from families of 12, 14 including grand parents. Mums side Donegal, Dads side Cork City. I know 2 of my Mum's siblings had 8 children each but I've only met them as a baby in Ireland, couldn't name them though. I have 2 cousins in Essex on my Dads side, 2 Suffolk on Mums side, 5 Manchester on Mums side, 2 Reading on Mums side, 1 Kent & 1 Bermondsey Mums brother who had 2 wives. 4 America on Dads side. 2 somewhere in Wales dads side. Trying to do a family tree would be a nightmare as I've got Uncles & Aunts I've never met. I've just warned my son's to be careful if they meet Murphys or McCarrons because they could be cousins. Not to mention the Aunts on both sides who I have no idea what their married names are.
