hi folks,

OK - so here we go with Jess Hynes' suffragette comedy..

Is it me, or have they gone with a mono mix?

Well, I'm mesmerised by Jessica Hynes' chest in that blouse.

With the talent involved, I was expecting this to be at least OK. But from the bayonet joke at the start (which then had to be explained, and still wasn't especially funny), it's been pretty mediocre.

It's not The Wright Way bad, but in some ways that's worse by virtue of it only being 'normally' bad.

It is utter shite but Emma Pierson is gorgeous.

Can anyone spot the irony in this comment?

It's only 3 eps but after what i've just seen I think it wouldn't have been out of place as a 3 or 4 minute sketch in an essemble sketch show.
Watson & Oliver probably could have done it in their show.

I really wanted to like this. I really wanted it to be funny. I barely raised a smile :(

I actually didn't think it was too bad. Not brilliant but had some good lines. Might improve.

I thought it might be quite funny but was sadly wrong. It was a bagoshite :(

    Why is this on BBC4?

Probably the comissioner was the one to take a punt on it.

Good decision with Getting On. Not so much with this.

Terrible. It was like watching one of those poorly acted Amateur Dramatic productions in the local Church Hall, which you can't wait to finish.

Very disappointing first episode that considering the comic talent involved.I'd been hoping for a lot better from a BBC4 debut.I couldn't decide if there was a 'Laughter Track' or the studio audience had been bribed, any clues?

I couldn't help noticing the glaring continuity error in the very first scene! From then on I was concentrating on looking for more.:D There were at least 5 obvious ones, probably even more that I missed.

I then had to watch it again to concentrate on the actual programme. I thought it was pretty good.

If you recorded it, watch the first scene again!

Was it the teapot? There were Royal Albert Cups and saucers and then the lady appeared with what appeared to be a modernish (1970s) Denby teapot. ?

The light fitting was from the correct era but the bayonet fitting was from a later date... completely spoiled the show for me... that and the fact there was nothing remotely funny in it.
