But they know which side of their bread's butter, so in private it'll be "we need Tarmac" and in public to the fans it'll be "Asked for Tarmac? Not me".

Anyway, just seeing FP1 for the first time, I liked the new powertrain elements used graphic.
    of course.

The Beeb have got an extra 30 minutes for analysis/reaction & whatnot after the chequered flag falls at the end of FP3.
Gap in the schedule? A raspberry at Sky to say "See, we can finish after you for something other than the Forum!" or is my conspiracy theories running rampant again?

Gap in the schedule I would guess. Anything else would be a bit silly really. I can understand if it was 15 minutes like Sky, but 30 mins seems excessive for an hour of practice. Anything that gets said is going to get repeated anyway in the Quali buildup, and no doubt most of it will be (sigh) HAM/ROS.

    I really like that graphic.

I think it would be better with some additional info for comparison, Maybe compare with the overall fastest Entry/Exit speed or that drivers personal best.

Think it would also work great with the line comparison replay overlays which have vanished again :(

If any TV company can persuade Mark Webber to become a full-time analyst they would be onto a huge winner.

Yet again, Sky1 cannot even get where to put the onscreen logo right!!

Vettel messing with DC's head by swearing like a trooper in a filmed bit just before they took a spin round the Sochi track!:D
Can't get used to Suzi's new spectacles.

BBC have an "uninterupted commentary" stream on their online F1 live player. Seems to be just the R5L commentary without any pictures :/ How does that work? Unless R5L isn't commentating on all of quali or something...

Is that Sky 1 SD? Looks to be in the 14:9 safe zone or 4:3 which you would expect for an SD channel.

Loved Sky interviewing international broadcasters about the Hamilton/Rosberg incident. Also absolutely loved the entire piece with Mark Webber. Someone needs to hire him if he wants to get into TV.

Incredibly refreshing to see camera angles zoomed on the cars once again, I couldn't see any long angles to cram CGI ads in. I just hope that this isn't because Monza doesn't lend itself to showing the ads due to the gravel traps.

Only CGI adds are on the exit of Curva Grande on the wall. Much better than on tarmac run-offs where cars can run through them.

Its not that. Its how far from the top of the screen it is compared to how its usually placed on the left of the screen for entertainment TV.
And its also the exact same place on Sky1HD. (Screengrab was from SkyGo)

Just a quick message to say a preview show for Formula E is just about to start on ITV 4.
It's repeated tomorrow morning at 9:40 and again Wednesday morning at 1:00.

News headlines on BBCi page 360

    1. "I won't do anything silly- Hamilton"
    2. "Hamilton takes first pole since May"
    3. "Hamilton or Rosberg could leave"
    4. "Hamilton on top after Rosberg problem"
    5. "Mercedes may consider driver change"
    6. "Rosberg top after Hamilton issue"
    7. "Hamilton tops italy practice"

Is this Formula One or Formula Mercedes ???? Maybe someone forgot to invite the other teams to Monza ???
