Oh god, the horror. Lets all laugh at someone different to us and call them an it.

Are there still fuc-kwits in the world who don't know the difference between a transvestite and a transsexual person?

Is this still news in any way, shape or form?

I despair for the human race.

    Who's laughing? I'm not! But I was curious. It's not a crime.

Some people love any excuse to get up on their high horse.

I've not read through the thread and have only just tuned into the programme. It isn't Jennings by any chance, is it? :D

Put it this way, if there were someone who was gay or lesbian on University Challenge would there be two threads dedicated to it and would they be labelled an it?

I guess i thought it was the 21st century where people weren't treated like they were in a freak show just because of how they choose to look.

People are judged on how they look every minute of every day. Welcome to human nature.

Nobody would be reacting this way if it were someone who is gay or lesbian, someone of another race or whatever, human nature has matured and grown past the old fashioned "lets all point at the different looking person", or so i thought.

come on  nobody's labelling anybody an 'it'
have you never said 'i've seen it all now'?
it's the same as saying 'i've seen everything now'

Then you've thought incorrectly. For example, it's been the first time for many moons I've tuned into University Challenge and I was already forming an opinion of the 'buzzer press' guy and that was based on voice alone! Heaven help him if he'd been seen! :D

now come on, it could be a woman with just a deep voice. Some people are just rude.

Poster 2 was calling them an it and has since edited their post. Something along the lines of "we're still trying to work out whether it is a he or a she."
