Just thought it might be a good idea to have a topic where we can post our rants
Today's rant
I hurt my knee.......... Sitting on the bed!!
So sick of this hyper mobility syndrome now, sick of this grinding knee, it's got to the point that I can't stand up/sit down without it causing a lot of pain

Oh, wait. I think they've stopped. They never do it for long.
Rant over....
Oh, my poor sweetie. I really feel for you. Is there any treatment you can take?....
If there is anyone Holy we will be spared that.
Think Joni, is that what you really want?
Yes, lordy yes.
They are hidden in your profile
ooooo nasty, you certainly get my sympathy.
I'm still a bit freaked out bout that......plain weird lol
My hypermobility is going that way. Awfully crunchy grinding knee.
I did go for a walk earlier but it hurt a lot. Really gets you down when you just want to actually exercise!
I'm taking ibuprofen and codeine and using ibuprofen cream
Thank you both
My OH suggested having a word with the doctor but what can be done
Have you been referred to a physiotherapist? Apparently, they can teach you exercises to strengthen muscles, etc. I read about various treatments here:
http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Joint-hypermobility/Pages/Treatment.aspx
Hope you find some relief soon. x
Yeah I've got physiotherapy to do
I don't think the grinding is to do with muscle, it feels like bone or cartlidge
It might be worth having a word with your GP - you never know, they might suggest something useful. I know what a pain it is going to the GP, though - the last thing you want is someone prodding at you when you're in pain.
Sorry to hear that Bex, I wish you well.
Aw, thanks.
It's ok. I had the wrong attitude for a long time and because I couldn't run or walk far (I can walk about absolutely fine, but not *walk*, for exercise purposes), I did no exercise at all.
But actually, I just need to focus on the exercise I can do. There's a brilliant cross-trainer type thingy at my gym that is actually for people with joint problems and I can really push myself on that Also, swimming and cycling are fine for me.
Lol, no
I know I could...
Ahhh I remember that thread.
Have you been referred to a specialist?
Yeah I'm going to have a word with my doc next time I'm in
I've already had one op, I'm reluctant to have another as my knee got worse after the op
