I did hear him say that he can't drink spirits, maybe he can cope with a couple of beers ?
No. Beer is alcohol. Real alcoholics cannot even eat a chocolate liqueur. As one poster said "once an alcoholic always an alcoholic"
I have the same proble with cigarettes.:o
There is no such thing as a recovering alcoholic, he will always be an alcoholic he is only one drink away, ether you drink or you don't. If you have a problem with drink you cannot just choose to have a few beers in the evening, trust me it does not work like that.....
AA uses the term in recovery.
You will always be an alcoholic but they do say recovering.
Not cured.
I think you are confused.
And yes if he is a alcoholic he can't drink, but your "trust me" sentence does sound patronising which, given that you're inaccurate, is a bit silly.
but the evidence of our own eyes seems to show Bruce coping perfectly well with a limited ration of alcohol. It is not Bruce who hides wine for his own use or who gets too drunk to walk.
