I didn't find the boob scene funny, I thought they could have done something with Bernadette, freaking out or even ask what was going on.

    I thought that too!

It might have made that scene funny.

Perhaps she did say or do something funny in the original take but they thought it might offend people and took it out?

Just noticed in the E4 episode tonight when Leonard was out on the non date with Penny, he was drinking what looked like a bottle of Newcastle Brown ale when chatting to 'Laura'

    Very odd!

It's a known trivia fact. Newcy Broon has popped up several times.

I always like the Penny - Sheldon episodes.

I missed the reason why Raj can now talk to women when sober [ surely it had to happen eventually ]

Me too....Penny vs Sheldon is brilliant :D

The episode made no sense, why was Leonard in the lift shaft? Penny and Sheldon got to the bowling alley first yet Bernadette said they were behind them. We never saw them at the bowling alley and the whole thing just seemed to be a setup for the rectum exam joke.

Didn't find Most of it funny other than the usual Penny and Sheldon stuff, those two are carrying this show now.

I've just worked out how Penny solved the map co-ordinates puzzle.

    The episode was good.

Great ep, best of the series so far, very funny. I loved how Howard and Amy completely gave up on the hunt in the end to do karaoke! :D

in the US paced thread someone on why they didn't explain the solution:
Because it's needless exposition? The clue was hidden under a rock, not a literal rock that you would assume but the rock band poster. Most viewers would have gotten that. :D

    Apart from you it seems.

the clue was 'To continue on your quest leave no stone unturned.'

And it was under a Rolling Stones poster.

    Nothing to do with rocks.

Sorry, meant to say "How Penny found the map co-ordinates". Sheldon would never have solved that puzzle.

You get Newcastle Brown and Boddingtons in most bars over there.

Trivia for the day - the red bottle of Heisler beer you see in a lot of American programmes is a ficticious beer that they use so as not to do any free advertising!

They couldn't show every clue/Puzzle being solved or it would take well over the 25 mins for the ep.

I'm guessing it took Sheldon and Penny longer then Leonard and Bernadette to solve the bowling alley puzzle

We didn't see the puzzles involving the Planetarium and the tire Yard (I think it was)

Thought it was one of the best episodes of the past few series

This series has started out a lot better then season 6. episode 1 wasn't great but ok, 2 was better and 3 was excellent

    Good start hope it continues

Is there any reason stated? A member of the crew from Newcastle perhaps? :D

I've spotted Newcastle Brown labels displayed prominently in a number of geeky US TV productions the titles of which I can't recall. The company may have have a policy of product placement which targets this particular demographic?

I watched the repeat earlier and the E4 announcer kept talking about Neil Diamond. As much as I enjoyed Howard and Amy's singing, I was slightly disappointed that there wasn't some sort of Neil Diamond cameo, as I'd presumed that's what was being referred to!

I just assumed it's a beer that the actor likes and so it's been written into the script.

Newcastle Brown is very popular in America. Can even get it on draft in plenty of places.

Raj running away at the end there really cracked me up :D Classic Sheldon, making sure he finished the puzzle before heading to the comic book store.

Anyone else starting to really dislike the leonard character. He has always been annoying now he is a pain almost all the time. His moaning and nagging in particular.

The others who do this have the good moments too. Leonard not so much
