Actually my highlight would be seeing the eruption cloud from Eyafjallajökull drifting over the UK. I know it caused a lot of misery for flyers all over Europe, but being into Volcanology (aswell as visiting Iceland myself in the past) it was quite something else to see.

That was one of my lowlights .Knowing my daughter was stuck in Grand Canaria and hoping she had enough insulin .

A highlight was the day she arrived home , 9 days over due and all was well .

The ash was kinda a highlight for me too. I was due to go on my first holiday for 10 years at the start of May (to Iceland), but had a panic attack the morning I was due to go and couldn't. Due to the volcano the flights got cancelled so we got to take the holiday again on another day. I overcame my fear of flying and agoraphobia and went on the 1st December instead. I bought some Eyafjallajökull souvenirs.
