I'm not doing a top 10 because most of them have already been on almost all the lists. But I can't believe that Nelson Mandela hasn't been on most of them - or Winston Churchill - or Robert Walpole.
Yes, well, If you'd paid attention to my original reply I told Irishman he probably hadn't heard of Jane Smith BECAUSE he is Irish. In your case, you're probably thick.:p

He was never taught in my history classes so that is at least a couple hundred people there who was never taught a thing about him and I would say 50% would never have looked him up after school (and that is being generous )
