Apparently, the average person consumes 22g of sugar a day. How much do you have?
That's obviously wrong. The government recommendation is about 90g a day for a start; you wouldn't expect people to only consume 1/4 of what they're allowed!
While 22g is about 90 calories a day out of the 2000-2500 calories someone might consume in one day, or around 4%. If that was the case, then sugar would not be a problem.
