There's no doubt Beyonce is the ultimate professional and gives it 110% but she bores me rigid.
There is such a thing as too slick and polished.

Beyonce's not about spectacle or production, she's about excellence in performance.
Gaga, Madonna, Rihanna can have all the effects they want- but it's to hide their vocals compared to someone like Bey. She's recognised for her vocals and her routines, like in Single Ladies. So she wanted to focus on that and have an amazing overall performance, rather than just a big lavish show.

Also I ask the haters, if it wasn't a superbowl halftime show and was just a performance at a tv show or another concert, would you have enjoyed it more and judged it differently?

She gave a brilliant PERFORMANCE :)
From what I saw she didnt "sing" much (what I heard was good), but it must be hard to dance/perform at that level at sing at the same time, and dancey songs with big productions arent all about the vocals. She would have done a power ballad if she wanted to show off vocal skills (eg Listen).

She doesnt have that many iconic songs.

Crazy in Love yes, Single Ladies yes, Halo at a push, Irreplaceable yes...and then her Destiny's Child back catalogue..

Just in perspective Destiny's Child were around for about 5 years and a LOT of their songs are iconic - Bootylicious, Indepenent Women, Say My Name, Survivor, Girl, Bills Bills Bills - Beyonce's own solo career has been twice that length and she has less stompers to show for it. For the casual music fan, that is.

Not to start bringing a comparison in, but by that logic she should have about 6-10 instantly recognisable big hits that make up the Beyonce repertoire.

Her performance was pretty good but, she didnt actually sing *that* much especially with it coming just after the whole miming debacle. Her dancing was pretty ace though..

...did anybody else feel a bit sorry for how Kelly and Michelle's mics were clearly turned down to a fraction of the level Beyonce's was?

She is a very very limited performer.

Every single performance is the same - the ad libs are the same, the dance moves are the same, the styling is the same, the songs are the same.

What about Lose my Breath for DC? I agree about Bootylicious, Independent Women, Say My Name, Survivor etc... being instantly recognisable and iconic (Bootylicious and Survivor especially). :)
Wasn't Survivor controversial because of the "You thought I wouldnt sell without you/Sold 9 million" bit, a pop at former members?

This. Her solo career is good, but it worked because of the springboard effect. I wonder what she'd be like if she started out alone. Because I don't think as many would care. Their mics were ridiculously low too.

Beyonce with her wailing and ego show, oh brilliant. She is boring and all her songs are about money, men being generally crap and how great she thinks she is
