It looks as if we support more singers from the US than here
I could've done a list as long as your arm, but, I forced myself to wittle it own
I also love Carl Barat, Pete Doherty, Jamie T, Alex Turner, Faris Badwan, Billy Bragg, Gary Lightbody (but he's Irish), Ryan Jarman, Damon Albarn, Alex Gaskarth, Liam Fray, Paul Weller, Jarvis Cocker, Richard Ashcroft, Noel Gallagher, James Righton, Lily Allen, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Cheryl Cole (with GA), Paloma Faith & Marina Diamindis.
The only female artists I do really like make electro music, so, they don't really have a distinct vocal (I'm talking Ellie Goulding, Ellie Jackson, Victoria Hesketh
Pete Doherty is a class above most for me, regardless of what he gets up to he is a fantastic songwriter and massively talented. Don't like a lot of female artists, the only ones I really listen to are Laura Marling and Kate Nash.

Pete's not only a musical genius. He got five A*'s at GCSE and two A's at A-level
I think Kate Bush is the greatest British female artist of all time, I have several other favourites but no one comes close to the legacy she has produced, in my opinion.
Other favourites (top of my head):
Robert Smith (the last two albums by The Cure are pretty awful, though )
Morrissey (prefer his work with The Smiths by far though there are several songs I like solo)
Peter Gabriel (with Genesis and solo)
Kirsty MacColl (love her lyrics and adore her voice, pitch perfect and like honey)
David Bowie
For females, Alex Burke, Beverley Knight, Eddi Reader. Would struggle to name a solo male - I think the best male singers are fronting bands. Probably Robbie Williams.
