I've noticed that on the Sky EPG it has "Live Football" next Thursday 5pm-7.30pm Sky Sports 1 (no further details). Anyone know what game that will be?
Definitely a late addition as it is not currently listed on SPI.
Also as far as future rights go along with La Liga (current deal includes up to end of 2014-15) and Southern Hemisphere rugby (Super 15, Currie, ITM, Rugby Championship), and World 7s - all running to end of their 2015 seasons the other one ending is NFL (which has the next season (2014-15) to go on the same deals as the previous season (live on Sky Sports, British Eurosport and C4)).
There are 3 other rights contracts expiring by Summer 2015 which I would regard as of substantial interest:
ICC cricket (expires after 2015 World Cup)
RFU - England + sundry (expires end of 2014/15 season)
US Open golf (expires after 2014 event)
All currently held by Sky - as are all the ones in your post.
So that is 6 significant contracts which Sky has to defend in the relatively near future (I wouldn't regard the World 7s as significant).
So instead of giving both broadcasters a Europa League semi-final each so they're both on TV, UEFA have instead given both to ITV, who aren't even bothering to put the Sevilla-Valencia game on telly. Brilliant.

I hope Sky haven't taken the rights for this off the clubs, and this is just the odd game every now and again. LFCTV used to show every one of our U21 games live, if that now can't happen just so Sky can show 2-3 a season I won't be impressed.

Sort of agree, however BT will be showing those teams in the playoffs, so maybe thought it better to have a bit more of a variety.
Also means a better chance of a large crowd, loads of disgruntled Newcastle fans were at the Good Friday game, at the International Stadium on Saturday. #SuperHeedArmy
That does make sense considering Gateshead - Cambridge could play out a draw (all Gateshead need) and then put people off BT airing the said play off fixture.

I think it's really poor that ITV are only showing 1 of the 2 EL semi-finals; would be a different story if there was an English team involved. Wonder what UEFA's thoughts are on 1 of the games only being available thru ITV website? I know the EL plays second fiddle to CL and with no British club being involved there isn't a huge interest but it's the semi-finals of a European competition, think it's disrespectful to have contract rights and just stick one game on proper telly.
Why do BT not get one of the semi-finals to broadcast as part of their contract? Out of interest when does the current EL contract with ITV/BT expire? Guessing with BT getting CL from 2015/16 they probably won't have same level of interest in EL. Might Sky suddenly become interested? That would be a change in fortunes!

I watched it, excellent coverage today, been great all season, roll on the play-offs
Seems quite a few people must have watched it from this small sample here, so maybe it could have performed quite well in the figures.
Derek Rae had an excellent game and considering it was his first time he has covered a conference game all season he did his home work really well, better than regular stand in Dave Farr.

Personally, as someone who had watched next to no none league football prior to this season, I feel that BT have done a really good job in their presentation while their is seemingly always something happening in their game either on or off the pitch which is great. I remember on NYD when the pitch was so sodden and the game trended over Twitter. The match got an average of 100,000 - the highest ever for a Conference match - and it was up against Swansea v Man City on SS1. I think BT really do bring the conference coverage to the fans and the hiring of Mark Clemmit as one of the regular presenters was an inspired selection.

I remember that game. Did it not peek at some really high figure as well with people watching for the pure magic of it? I wonder what the playoffs and final will get coverage wise as they tend to be a big focal point.
