I never went to "gigs" when young, only when much older - I went to lots of "proms in the park" type events, shows and the opera though, but I don't really include those.

I used to DJ and my musical experiences mostly centered around that. I also sang but I think only very drunk people appreciated it :D I also went on tour in a minor roll with a very well known band but never actually spoke to any of them the whole time!

I think the first "real gig" I went to was S Club7 but it really wasn't for my benefit, I was just playing escort...

Probably the biggest event I've been to was Robbie Williams: Live At Knebworth 2003.

That was mine too, an easy date to remember 8/8/88. There's some footage of it on YouTube.

Must have been some gig. I'd have been 12 at the time and didn't yet appreciate how great they were. Doubt I'd have been able to go anyway.

INXS at the Royal Albert Hall - June 24th 1986 on the "Listen Like Thieves" tour.

I was fifteen and felt it was time for me to go to a concert. I'd vaguely heard one of their songs on the radio, saw they were touring and went for it. Tickets were £7.50.

I still have the t-shirt and wore it when I saw them two years ago in Clapham, thirteen days shy of it being exactly twenty five years since I first saw them.

I remember getting dragged to see Bucks Fizz in the late 80s at Bents Park, South Shields. First gig I bought a ticket for though was The Levellers, Newcastle City Hall, 1997.
