Interesting thread from the Soaps forum about people who have been successful (in Hollywood, theatre, TV, UK etc) after leaving soaps. An interesting read.

    thanks for that :)
I never visit that place will have a read of that :)

That's exactly what the Australian drama and movies used to be like. :D

Yes, Bryan Brown used to be in every single one during the 80s. I used to think he must be the only Australian actor in Australia. :D
    He was fit though. :)

I think Carol doesn't like the fact that Louie can empathise with anyone if he sees they need help.

i agree Dome i have seen Louie listen and be supportive to whoever has down days....when he had a down days did anyone return the favour?

It's taken years for those lines to form.

    I suffer from laughter lines.

No, because they all expect him to be happy 24/7 and life isn't like that.

most soap actors just play themselves

vicky and bruce being two of them

it irks me that they really think they are great actors loved by the people when the people like the characters they play and not the actor themselves

thats why most of them fail and trundle into obscurity or reality shows once their stint on a soap is over

a few soap actors have made it but they are few and far between

sorry for my rant as well :o
If the show or soap is new, then the actor playing a character will stay for a long time, unless he/she decided to leave. There are some actors I like as people, and would watch them in any part they played, be it in a movie, a TV drama. But not all favoured actors get the right parts for them, but they take it to stay in touch as it were. :)

Louie must be bored to the back teeth with listening to Vicky bang on about how her great talent has been wasted on the 'ironing' public ... when she should rightly have been winning a Laurence Olivier award for breath-taking performances at the Old Vic

they really have been on the whole a miserable bunch.
Vanessa was right. They are being paid a nice sum basically for sitting around and doing some silly tasks they act like they are in some human research lab awaiting lobotomies

I think most of us have been feeling like that since about Day 4. Up until then I had high hopes for it. :(
