Play Away

A thread about old kids' show You and Me, including old YouTube titles footage, got me recalling things.

Dug these old credits out for Play Away, which I watched early/mid 70s.

I recall I was always amused by the duck seeming to say the 'Y' in 'play'-and also that I loved that man in the cartoon jet plane, who writes the show title with exhaust smoke.

Anyone else a former Play Away fan?

Yes, many happy times lying on the rug in front of the fire with my dad, brother, dog and cat watching Play Away - my dad had quite a crush on Toni Arthur :D

My mate reliably told me that Brian Cant told him he was a little C*** for annoying him at a charity cricket match in Kent

It really dosn't matter if it's raining or it's fine
Just so long as you've got time,
    To P L A Y,
    Playawayway, way away way, away,way.
    Way Away,Playway

Oooh I don't remember those titles, I remember the song though.
Ahh Uncle Brian Cant, he came up in another thread a while back, found out he isn't very well, I fairly teared up seeing him.

There have been surprisingly big names who appeared on Play Away before they were well-known; Jeremy Irons, for instance.
