Please don't waste time on that MS, cloud gaming sucks.

The HDMI-in is still a better form of backward compatibility than this ever will be.

Even if it did come to PC (which I don't see happening for obvious reasons) no PC gamer would pay to have a lag-infested/compressed 720p/30fps cloud stream of a few 360 exclusive games that you could buy dirt cheap anyway LOL

Even for X1 it's not an idea situation. What I would much rather see are tweaked HD remakes of some of the most loved titles released digitally on the marketplace.

Depends on how well it works, how much etc.

Certainly wouldn't go ahead and buy another 360 - too many gaming machines here already!

I think the purpose of this is so that you can play high-end games on low-spec devices like a phone.

    Agree.

I've said before that I got to play around with OnLive for a bit a year or so ago. We had a chance to try the box that hooked upto the TV as well as the PC software & neither worked particularly well.
The graphics on both platforms were a noticeable step down from console/PC versions & we did suffer from a lot of lag even on a decent 18meg connection.

I tried onlive on a tablet and it wasn't too bad. Definately not up to home PC standards though.

I'd only use it if it was reasonable and performed well on a home pc. To me its just another gaming option - not something I'd see as a must have!

I downloaded & tried OnLive on my PC yesterday & played some of the free trials (You can signup/download & play for free) .

I did have a bit of lag but the biggest downer for me was the drop in visual quality when compared to playing some of the same titles on PC/Console.
Visually its like your watching a low bitrate satellite channel so colors look washed out, Text is blocky & it just all looks a bit crap, Especially during times of fast motion.

Yeah OnLive sucked when I tried it, the compression was noticeable, as shown in your screenshots.

The latency was fine for me though.

I tried Gaikai when it was available and I found that to be much better than OnLive for compression. Couldn't spot any compression signs at all and again latency was fine.

Played Crysis and it was very smooth and looked very decent. Pretty sure they were using NVIDIA GRID back then and I doubt they'll use that for PS4 streaming, but their video technology is worked very well.

Didn't play for too long - but one thing that I'm most concerned about for cloud gaming is that having a connection is one thing, the occasional drops is another. They can be fairly frequent and could get annoying if a few packets are dropped causing a brief stutter.
