Not a fan of the growling that's all too prevalent on the metal scene. Too many good songs ruined by the vocals imo.
I am not into the growling either, but i have never put Tom Araya in that catergory, although i could be blinkered having been into them since i was an impressionable teen.
I was given a Napalm Death cd long time ago and used to put it on to annoy the missus even though i couldnt stand it either

That'll be it then I keep having this argument with my metal head daughter. Listen to this - perfectly good folk metal tune but wtf is that happening over it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yom8nNqmxvQ

Thats cruel, i find most of these type of bands very techincally adept musically then 'the vocals' start and i have to turn it off
When U2 reworked One with Mary J Bilge, they became one of the first bands in history to murder their own song.
The surviving members of Queen also murdered We Will Rock You when they collaborated with Five. Freddie Mercury must have been turning cartwheels in his grave!

Jessie J's version of it in the Olympics was shocking too. Murdered.
Notable mention should go to William who ruins all of his songs he sings live.
The Mike Flowers Pops did a slow Andy Williams style swing version of Wonderwall which I think is inspired, especially with the nostalgia for sixties derived pop culture during that time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vy1ueZf1WMQ
I can't believe i'm saying this, but, I actually quite like that.
If i remember correctly, even Noel Gallagher didn't mind it, as it paid for his swimming pool!

It is quite an odd one but the song was shortened and the two verses used did apply to Madonna and William Orbit made the tune super catchy.
:D:D

Yes, it's cruel because I really want to love that song
I have same feeling with Lamb of God, Cradle of Filth etc, music is great but vocals grate on me
That's why we need cover versions
Amon Amarth - Twilight Of The Thunder God
Sounds great but wtf is he going on about?

Atomic Kitten ruining the classic Eternal Flame (making it so girlbandy).

Those are just some off the top of my head.

Miley's dancing in the clip makes me sad, but at the very least she has some handle on the lyrics.

Evil....
Oh my god! I so agree with this! She sang it in the wrong key the whole way through! Turned me off Ella a little bit but I now adore her again.
I found Rolf Harris' version of Stairway to Heaven quite entertaining. I also liked Pepsi & Shirlie's version of All Right Now.
I know a version by Devo which I like and prefer to the Stones' version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGELfHv6oQQ
I still see no connection between Pink Floyd and the Scissor Sisters' version.
Some other Heresy cover versions I like are:
Dollar:- I Wanna Hold Your Hand
Candy Flip:- Strawberry Fields Forever
HearSay:- Monday Monday
I won't even Youtube these!:o
Psycho Killer - Flying Pickets
Yes really. And no matter how bad you think it will be, the reality is far worse.
Britney's version of I Love Rock N Roll is unusual to say the least.

Leona Lewis - Hurts
Alexandra Burke - Live and let die.
