Emmerdale : Lawrence ( warning spoilers inside)

I'm not going to use spoiler tags as I've put spoilers in the title, so it's obvious they will be discussed in the thread. I'm sure most have seen the spoilers that were released on emmerdales press day that have been on multiple site and publications. But the two I Want to discuss are

A) Lachlan shooting Lawrence

B) chrissie framing Andy for this while pretending to stand by his side. ( to save Lachlan and punish him for sleeping with Bernice )

From the summer trailer video ( release d Monday on the itv Emmerdale website ) we see that Lachlan shoots Lawrence face on with no one else there untill chrissie comes home, so Surley he must die for chrissie to be able to frame Andy as either the story would be both chrissie and Lawrence framing Andy or Lawrence himself would reveal what happened.

Secondly how could she possibly frame him while pretending to stand by him, as he was not at the scene of the crime so how would the police suddenly assume Andy was responsible unless chrissie implies or outright tells them he did it, which would then make it difficult to pretend to be on his side well plotting to destroy him as the spoiler says.

The owner of Home Farm gets shot. Can't they come up with something new? It's not that long since Mark was gunned down by Natasha.

Were those people actually AT the Press day, or is it Chinese whispers and hearsay?

Thank you for the link. :) Reeks of Lindsayspin though.

I know you mean but if you google it all press have the same stories, so this summers stories have all been briefed to the press, the trailer video has already been released as well and in the clips you see Lachlan holding Lawrence at gunpoint and then a shot fired as chrissie runs in, Lachlan is then crying to chrissie saying he just wanted to scare him and it cuts to chrissie hiding the gun in the woods.

I think Andy will initially get sent down as his wife is due to give birth soon and he will obviously want some time off, I guess it just depends on how long he dicides to take or wether he wants to leave altogether? I don't know how she manages to frame him though.

I am not liking this storyline, I like Andy and Chrissie together. what was the point if the intention was just to split then up 5mins later

Zak & Joanie? Marlon & Laurel? Chas and Dan? More that don't immediately come to mind.

Agree with them all except Maron and laurel, I think was just a miss-step from the writers who though they were a popular pairing.

I quite liked them but probably only because I like both characters. I know I was in the minority. :)
Tracy and David will be another convenient coupling. Probably.

EDIT: And the very obvious Lawrence and Bernice. :D

After tonight's episode I'm guessing if Lawrence does survive he won't mind helping chrissie pin it on slugden.

I'm disappointed with what they're doing with Lawrence - or with John Bowe. They're sadly lacking in older characters now and I can just see him in the Woolie putting the world to rights with Pearl and Sandy, or linking up with Rodney in some dodgy business. :D

I think this story could be revisited after a few weeks or months, depending on how much time Kelvin Fletcher takes off and also on the other involved actors' plans.

Lawrence could survive but be in a coma. Then, after a few weeks have passed, Andy has been sent down and Chrissie believes she has gotten away with everything he wakes up and tells the truth about who shot him.

This would allow Andy and Lawrence to come back, and Lachlan would be the member of the White family leaving permanently.

I know this has spoiler in the title but will use tags to prevent moaning from people who read these posts then whinge about spoilers -
Someone either from Home Farm or linked to Home Farm is leaving for good so either Lawrence dies or Andy doesn't come back

To be fair - the last person who got shot at Home Farm - it was the Lady of the Manor who went to prison.

The only difference is Mark and Natasha were much more interesting, well developed characters. I still miss the Wyldes I personally don't think any family post the Wyldes has matched up to them yet.

A completely contrived effort in order to give Chrissie the "excuse" to be a "super bitch"

All her scenes with Andy over the last week or so have been cringe worthy, the way she is constantly draped over him with her arms around his neck or passionately kissing him in front of Bernice or someone.

She's acting like a teenager not the refined business woman she was, I guess showing how "into" Andy she is is more justification for turning into a "superbitch" after he hurts her..

Agreed they've ruined chrissie the last few months in the hope we'll buy her pain over Andys betrayal, I remember last years she was outraged about Lachlan watching porn and asked how would you like to see me cavorting like that...well I guess now we know. The attraction to Andy is a plot device to make Bernice jealous, her attraction to him came from nowhere and never really felt believable. And as you say they had to change her personality to accommodate the story.

Also Andy was infuriating last night " should be on your knees thanking me". No you little worm you should be on your knees thanking him, he went to prison for your murderous plot, or have you forgotten this now you want to take the moral high ground. I suppose in a couple of months he will be disgusted at the thought of having to go to prison for someone else's crime. He's a massive hypocrite

Wow a slightly different version they really excelled themselves that time.
