When i was watching FilmNet, Sky TV consisted of a channel on air called Sky Channel for a whole 2 hours a day. (2-4)

The Astra satellites didn't even exist. :D

Well it wasnt showing hardcore that far back.

Filmnet was on 27west along with many other cable channels but once Astra launched with Sky Channel and its package of 4 FTA channels Filmnet attracted a lot of UK fans for its 24 hours a day of films that BSB owned.

Once its Astra broadcast was settled they changed the 27west channel into an alternate Filmnet for Benelux only along with annoying onscreen subtitles instead of teletext subtitles.

The best time for Filmnet was when the digital service started on 1W and Canal+ took over , split the channel into 5 country specific channels and aired them all FTA for over a year - complete with daily hardcore.

And then they vanished one by one and I had to pay £300 for a Conax card to unlock all the 1W services but that lasted about 2-3 years

Was the Conax card called a dreamcard? The films on 1w Canal+ don't seem so good these days, or maybe it's just me.

No - it lasted 6 months.

    But it was a scam.
One of the very last broadcasts I taped show a guy shitting on a pregnant woman.
    Speaking of running away.

Hi-Tec Xtravision were eventually screwed by anti piracy laws so were no longer able to sell pirate gear in quantity so the guy who ran it Chris Carey became a pirate of UK Sky TV.
Eventually he was discovered , got convicted and fined but somehow made a getaway and was on the run for quite a while.
IIRC he spent 4 years in jail

ewwww why? why? why? why post that here? ewww.

NO - it was before all these named cards came out.

Back then it was an auto updating card that worked for nearly 3 years and unlocked all the Conax services.

Soon after it stopped working the encryption seemed to change and Viaccess2 and more secure versions of Irdeto etc messed up everything on 19E and it became a requirement to update the card yourself via programmers and online codes but I could not be bothered with all that so despite Dream Cards and other similar cards I've not been tempted back

They were still using that on Astra - although by then subs were hidden away on text.

There was a channel on hotbird called sexplus.tv that I had a card for, it was part of 3 channels. They used to eat the stuff on there, it was very bad and repulsing. It was a bonus channel when you subscribed to sex.tv.

Can't believe some of the content of the hardcore channels. I thought that type of perversion only came about the past few years as society has decayed.;)

Let alone in the 90's on European Satellite.

It was bad and I will never forget it. It was something that you had to see to believe it was on TV.

Foreign producers have been doing it for decades
Some of the stuff from Brazil defies belief in its mixture of shit and vomit in the same scene

I used to have SCT and Sexview and the only material they did not show was underage stuff and animal films.

I always recall Sexview showing a man with three fists up his arse and a jaw dropping Dutch bondage film where a guy has a rather large pin forced through the top of his penis - it bled profusely - ouch does not do it justice

But only until the film started- then Nagravision took it away.
Never felt the urge to bother with any German tv because it was virtually all dubbed

I found a free porn video site the other week which I assumed , like other sites showed straightforward porn clips.

    It does.

But hidden away in the vaults there are some unbelievable clips from Brazil.

Its hard to understand how people get turned on by it - but its even more incredible how the people can actually do it at all.

Try Tube8.com and do a search for "vomit".

There are 2 or 3 clips that will blow your mind if you can watch more than a few minutes.

The site shows that the Japanese have an odd sense of whats obscene too.
Cant show pubic hair but look at what they DO show.

Needless to say that when it comes to tv channels , this sick stuff is confined to the porn packages and TV 1000 and Filmnet stuck strictly to the normal material

What Satellite was it on? I used to think Hotbird but that was before Hotbird came onto the scene.

I remember alot of marketing for the adult cards being sold within the UK, I do remember the marketing not lasting very long and often wondered what the hell happened.

After12 was on 13° East, before HotBird, of course. The satellite was Eutelsat II-F1.

While on the topic of Adult Channels Redlight Premium will replace the 4 Eurobird 9 Channels and also launch on HotBird. Redlight Premium is expected to offer hi-res content.

All the Films were Dubbed in German so unless you understood German it would be no use to you.

Really. Oh well, I was only young?! Did anyone else use this graphic of going up the cinema stairs, I seem to remember it from another channel - then again my memory is like swiss cheese!

I was only 16 when I signed up for Sky (I even put down my real DOB on the paperwork in the shop and nobody ever noticed!). Had it in my bedroom at my parents house. Could only afford the basic pack back then but struck a deal with my dad to go halves to upgrade to SkySports providing he could stick a coax cable in the back to run down to the living room.

Does anyone have a screenshot of the old encrypted Sky analogue screen (the grey and white lines) with the "Insert Card" message showing?

Here is the videocrypt encryption screen minus the on-screen messages due to the user not having the videocrypt hardware.

    :D Great :D

How teasing was that encryption, much better than just a blank screen of today.

Always reminded me of the screen when I used to load games from tape on my ZX Spectrum :D

    Always like Premiere http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6krppmgdF4

That was the one channel I always wanted unlocked. I would of sold my soul for it if even though the films were dubbed. But I liked its mix of Films, Live Concerts, Boxing and Documentaries and Bundesliga. I also loved the encryption. I always watched the FTA promos in between films, and at night you could hear orgasms. Talking about being teased ;)

If I remember rightly I would flick through RTL, SAT1 and Vox for the ertoica, then over to Premiere to hear if they were showing adult movies and then usally resort to chilling with Space Night. :D

    Ok.

Just out of interest, I watched the said content.

very weird but also very intiguing at the same time. I mean they made it look so natural when doing it... thats what suprises me...

People wanted Premiere more in them days because you could hear and partly see what was going on. It was the same with Filmnet to, hearing the sound played a big part in people wanting to watch it. This is why in the later days they encrypted it using digital audio and then d2mac Eurocrypt. It's not so fun these days because you get no sound and no partial picture to look at. :) Can you imagine what it would be like if Showtime on 7w was available on a 45cm dish on 28e using old analogue type of encryptions? You would get most of the UK trying their dam best to decode the signal. :D
