£90 a week wouldn't cover his tanning sessions! Unless he just meant for the lumpen proletariat. He, of course, as a member of the 'committee' would have access to more funds.

He said #90 per hour maximum wage - enough for anyone to have a comfortable life - lets face it - people who make megabucks is made at the expense of others

I'll do a job for £90 an hour, no problem.

Voted by whom? The Scottish electorate?

Why can't we have those sorts of elections in England? I demand it!

Nah, by some focus group or something. They've had polls on this for Westminster, too. Can't remember any of the winners.

More likely to use his degree to work with Mike Daley in Castlemilk Law Centre - an excellent use of legal training.

Mike Dailly is the Principal Solicitor in Govan Law Centre, not Castlemilk.

I agree with the rest of your point though.:D

Oh, sounds about right for this focus-group-obsessed excuse for a government.

"Hey, people!!......you can vote on the 'best looking MP/MSP' but not don't even think about having a say on the European Constitution or a General Election".

I'm pretty sure they do have focus groups on the Lisbon Treaty etc. And it's the results of those which mean we don't get a referendum.

Lilitu - I was quoting you!

You criticised Tommy for saying 90 a week - I was pointing out he meant 90 an hour

You then went on to say you would be very happy with 90 an hour then used your own quote to illustrate how absurd your own point was!

Yes, I know. The hour is late and I thought, "What the hell....£90 is not bad. Just think how many tans I could buy for that!" *

Ok, I consolidated my opinion....this Tommy bloke talks out of his arse :)

    * This is a joke.....I've never had a tanning session. I'm milky white and intend to stay that way.....I can think of far better things to do with my money.

I think Tommy Sheridan is an idiot. I am a socialist, I believe in doing my work well and getting paid fairly for it, I belive in social care for those who can't work due to health, training/support finding work for those out of work who are able, high quailty education, free health care, looking after the elderly and shock horror paying taxes to fund it. I am Scottish and would NEVER vote for an idot like him, his policys are not thought through properly, he knows he'll never have enough power so can claim pretty much anything he likes.

Him claiming that he is too hairy to have been on the receiving side of ice cubes during sex play is silly. I don't know or care if he was or wasn't involved in orgies or cheated on his wife but I don't see how being hairy would affect it?

On the law degree, in Scotland Scottish residents don't have to pay fees for their education unless they are repeating or studying at a lower level than they already have. Does Tommy already have a degree? His wife works as far as I'm aware but he'd still quailfy for a student loan and help from his Uni for housing if things were really tight.

As for the tanning bed thing, he's going to wind up with skin cancer if he's not carefull and it makes him look even worse IMO.

Sorry for the rant but the man gets on my nerves.

I think he's coming across really well, but nervous but friendly. Seems like a decent bloke to me.

Tommy will be paying his fees. He has both a BA and a Masters so will have to pay for his fast-track law degree. Sure his wife works, but works part-time because she runs the house too. What with that and the NOTW legal fees he could probably be doing with the cash.

Its ok for you not to like him, and all your other points are possibly ok but its absurd to expect him either not to take a pay for this gig, or to do something else with his cash. He's a socialist, he's not taken a vow of poverty.

You beat me to it. This kind of follows on from a point I made elsewhere about the fact that we had to be told on launch night that Lucy has a couple of A levels and some GCSEs and yet no one else's academic qualifications got a mention. Actually, I don't think they are relevant - Lucy's no more than anyone else's - but to mention only Lucy's qualifications is to plant the idea that she is the most intelligent HM. I understand that it was done to counteract the preconceptions some people have about the intelligence of glamour models, but there are also widespread preconceptions about the intelligence of socialist politicians with working-class Glasgow accents, loud-mouthed actresses with broad Liverpool accents, black American gangsta rappers, and so on.

    Tommy? Fit?

How could these two words be put together?

Nothing remotely fit about him at all. A ranting Scottish politician would not be my choice of dinner guest let alone be stuck in a house with him.

And not nice to look at.

Has the OP had one to many sherries over the festive season? If so - it is now time to remove all beer goggles.

He's not fit. He looks ancient for 44  I thought he was pushing 60. If he doesn't stop using sunbeds he'll look about 100 when he's 50.

He may not be your choice but he would certainly be mine. Beauty eye beholder and all that. I also heard he had a hairy back which is so sexy :D

Well he's ranting like a madman for a start. I don't necessarily disagree with what he's saying (I'm a member of the party he used to lead by the way - before abandoning it for 'Solidarity') but I find him an arrogant, sleazy and quite obnoxious individual and everything I've heard about him over the last few years confirms that.

He's impassioned with what he is talking about, much better a man passionately talking about a cause he clearly cares about, rather than him monotonously reciting something at a camera like most PEBs.
