Where are the writers going with Maria/Marcus?

  I don't think he'll have an affair, but he'll start checking them out and probably craving them. I doubt Maria on her own could ever completely satisfy him sexually.

  Although I don't think the show have explicity said that Marcus is now "bisexual" (I personally hate labels), plenty of bisexuals can be with one person without craving the other gender. It is a common misconception that they need both to feel satisfied.
  
  There are some people (not all) for whom you fall in love with the person and not the gender. And when you are in love sex comes naturally.
  
  Having said that I think you are right, they will probably go down this route because I think it's what people will expect to happen. And let's face it no Corrie couple gets together and stays together!

  I think that they will be together for at least another 2 years im afraid, and a possible wedding, or baby.

  I hope they do somethings with them, my problem with the Maria/Marcus storyline is that there has been so little of it, all combined their scenes probably make up about 25-30 minutes.

  Yes. There were some very good scenes when Sean and Jason found out that Maria was seeing Marcus, but since then I think the writers have been a bit like "Ok... what do we do now?"

  I think it's an awful storyline, which for the gay community may be seen as an insult
  
  It gives the impression that gay people can suddenly start having relationships with the opposite sex after many years of indentifying themselves as gay. Also giving the impression that being gay is a choice.

  The story is not an insult to the gay community, their relationship isn't about sexuality it's about the person. And plenty of people in real life find themself in this kind of relationship, its not unheard of. Love who you wanna love and accept all others doing the same.
  
  It's not about choice, it's about two individuals falling for eachother. It happens sometimes.
  
  Even straight women can fall for their female best friends without ever needing to be with another woman post that relationship.

  The Marcus storyline could have been really interesting had they properly explored his feelings. It would be a big deal to someone like Marcus who had been living as a out gay man for so many years to have these feelings for Maria but Corrie just seemed to use it for sensational drama, after the reveal in the pub with Jason flying off the handle they quickly lost interest. we have seen Maria/Marcus since then but Marcus's feelings havent been explored.

  I like Marcus as a gay character without Maria. I liked their relationship as very good friends. IMO Maria and Jason were well suited. Jason also had a good friendship with Marcus. Mind you I like the way both Maria and Marcus are so good with Asha and Aadi.
