The Police are amazing! And I'm a big fan of a lot of Sting's solo work. Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic, Roxanne, Message In a Bottle, Don't Stand So Close To Me and Walking on the Moon are my The Police favorites. If I Ever Lose My Faith In You, Englishman In New York, Seven Days and Fields of Gold are my Sting favorites

Pretty decent band from what I've heard of them so far. Message In A Bottle and Every Breath You Take are brilliant songs.

This was the era when Sting was a human rights observer and had something to say about the world he wanted to see come into being. It's hard to get a band of session musicians really humming together; harder still to convincingly merge rock and jazz. I think with these albums he did pretty well at a tough gig. :)
