The title says it all really.

For me I like a debate, and I believe you learn more about people, other parts of the country, and gain knowledge along the way.

I suspected the place would be full of 'interesting characters'.... it didn't disappoint.

Both of the above really, plus a bit of curiosity. The other forums I use are specific subject related, so I fancied a little light relief.

Sadly, I think DS has gone down hill quite a lot over the last few years. There used to be intelligent chat alongside the fun, but now there seems to be less intelligence and more repetitive crap.

To get soaps gossip initially on the soaps forum. Then got wrapped up in the big brother nor for awhile.

Only really go general discussion to see the characters and sometimes have mini rant.

Cos there are very funny people here.
And when it's not funny I can enjoy a reasonable debate.

I used to chat on another forum but it closed and this one looked similar, although not as good.

I joined to get some info about a video recorder I was thinking of buying. And while I was here I had a look round.

I needed a place to talk about Big Brother after Channel 4 got rid of their forums.

I joined mainly for the ganing section, I was just looking for friendly gaming banter.

Originally, I joined the forum so I could post questions about gadgets. I wanted to ask for help with a piece of equipment, a DVD recorder or something, since there are forums for posting about those. I didn't join to post regularly, to chat or anything. I'd post infrequently in the TV show and music forums sometimes until the other year, now this is my main site for chatting online, away from twitter and FB.

I think it was because I saw my favourite X Factor contestant getting slagged off, and I wanted to abuse the person who was slating them.

Same here. It was the 50th Anniversary and my 'real' friends, colleagues and loved ones were starting to roll their eyes when I mentioned the subject, so having lurked here, thought I'd join and bore some total strangers instead! Like it here and have ventured out into various parts of DS. Most recently got a bit out of sharing my thoughts with the like minded about dear old Rik Mayall.

I was Googling someone I used to know IRL who is a total d1ck - and found a thread mentioning him. Clicked through to read it to see what the punters thought of him and got sucked in - not to that thread, just read it but then went to look around elsewhere on DS and got sort of stuck here.
