That's like Fight Club though; everyone knows the twist even if they haven't seen it.

Do you mean a twist as in plot twist or maybe we learn something that reverses our opinion of a character?

    Gone Girl

The twist comes about half way through - but highly recommended.

Does knowing a film has a big twist not ruin it for you though?
I spent the whole of panic room thinking all was not as it should be as it was a David fincher film. I was convinced that the panic room was a metaphor, but no it was all relatively straightforward.

I always answer Sleepaway camp when this topic arises. Best twist ever

You could argue that some of these are more dramatic/surprising plot reveals rather than actual twists.

A film that offers a surprising resolution to the mystery it has built up isn't quite the same as a film that pulls the rug on what you thought was certain.

Picky, I know, but still a difference.

Matchstick Men had a twist I didn't see coming.

The twist in Misery wasn't that great.

Gothika is another that is meant to have a huge twist.

Me too. Love watching a movie where the twist hasn't been spoiled for me, it's a rare occurrence!

I'll add (not all of them are great movies I'm afraid, but they do all have great twists :D)

    Mystic River
    Sporloos/The Vanishing
Best Laid Plans (1999) - a hidden gem IMO
    Side Effects
    Arlington Road
    Hard Candy
    Saw
