Sorry if this has been aired on the site before but it is bugging me like hell!!!
I live between Glasgow and Edinburgh yet I cannot get STV GLASGOW/EDINBURGH local stations. Tried re-tuning several times but no avail!! Pity as some of the content is interesting!!
I do know of course I can get it on the net.....just want to see it on the box!!
Many thanks

I also don't get STV Edinburgh and I'm in Fife 10miles or so to the west from the Craigkelly transmitter. Where I stay we have an overlap of both main Central Scotland transmitters Craigkelly 10miles away and Black Hill just over 20miles away.
I believe STV Glasgow broadcast on low power so I would not expect to get that as far as where I am in Fife but I would think I would be able to get some sort of signal from the local Edinburgh MUX.

In the centre of Edinburgh, naturally I can get STV Edinburgh. However, on the main STV channel it shows me 'News From The West'.

STV tells me my aerial is pointing at Blackhill instead of Craigkelly, hence News From The West, but if that was the case then surely I wouldn't get STV Edinburgh?

You can see STV Glasgow's coverage map here http://www.a516digital.com/2014/05/stv-glasgow-whats-on-and-how-to-get-it.html and STV Edinburgh's at http://www.a516digital.com/2015/01/how-to-watch-stv-edinburgh.html . It looks like a lot of places between Glasgow and Edinburgh should get one or the other, but you might just be out of luck.

That seems a bit odd - perhaps you're receiving from both transmitters? You may have STV (East) on another channel number, possibly in the 800s? I think STV local channels simulcast all the news from the main STV channels (albeit with smaller picture and extra graphics), so you won't be missing out on much.

If you are in Cumbernauld for example you just need to be slightly out not to get STV Glasgow.

If you are really not getting the version of STV that you want via aerial, you could always try Freesat. Here, you would just put a postcode that is definitely within Glasgow or Edinburgh in system set-up and that version of STV would load on 103. (Aberdeen has another version). A high definition version also loads on 119? and I believe that that is the Glasgow version. If so, inputting an Edinburgh postcode would give you both versions.

Freesat is also able to give you all ITV stations when tuning in 'non-Freesat' channels - which do not appear on the EPG. However, all BBC regions/nations appear on the Freesat EPG in the high 900's.

You might like to see if another version of STV has loaded on your Freeview in the 800's?
Select BBC 1 Scotlands on number 1 and go on the down hopper to see if that is the case.

Freesat is a good option, but to get the LOCAL STV community type channels you will need Sky as the broadcasts are scrambled

Thanks for the links, coverage map says I should be getting some sort of signal from the Edinburgh local MUX in the Dunfermline area but I don't get any signal from it.
STV Glasgow as I thought don't rech as far as my area.

I'm in Edinburgh and I can't get either STV local channel as my aerial points to Black Hill rather than Craigkelly due to the local topology.
