how much data do you consume?

Just wondering how much data people consume, on average, using their home broadband connection.

Last month I used 80.23GB. There are 3 people living in the house.

is that low / high / average?

Yours is probably high on average. But I average 300gb a month. :) But I get all my content on-demand from services like iPlayer, Sky Go, iTunes, Netflix, etc. And I work from home so I'm streaming a lot during the day too while also moving bulky work files around. (right now I'm transferring a 2gb file of user images from a website we're preparing to upgrade)

About a Gig a day when averaged over a month. Sometimes a lot higher but balanced out by low usage days.

I also work from home too but most of my usage is over remote desktops so while that requires a fast responsive connection, it doesn't use that much data.

150GB (total upload and download) per month on BT Infinity. It's gone up recently since I started using Sky's on demand service and Sky Go. I also use Picassa and have uploaded all my home movies (since they removed the 1GB file siz limit) and photos there.

With the increase in streaming services it's only going to go one way.

How do you measure how much you use? I'm on Sky Fibre Pro and when I login to my Sky account online, it doesn't tell me what I've used as it's unlimited

Atm about 130 GB month. How I survived on Plusnets 60 GB adsl package I'll never know (let alone my old isp's 30 GB for about £26 ).

Most months less than 10GB a month, 3 of us in the house, I only really browse, the daughter watches a lot of youtube videos on her phone and the wife hardly ever uses the internet at all. It has been as little as 2GB for the month in the past.

According to BT I've downloaded 218.87 GB since the 14th, That's ADSL about 5Mbps.

A rough "back of an envelope" calculation that's maxing out your link continuously for 8 hours or so a day every day!

I do use iPlayer, etc... So that probably takes up a lot of data.

I wouldn't be on anything other than an unlimited tariff.

It displays it when I log in to my plusnet account.

If it doesn't do the same on sky... Then you can log into your router control panel... There should be a traffic meter in there somewhere

Oh my... But then again, I use the internet more than 8 hours per day, therefore max out the connection far less.

Never less than 300gb and a one time high of just over 1000gb; if I average it out over the year its perhaps around 500gb a month but then we are heavy users. Within a few years I'd not be surprised to see an average house using 500gb or more a month.

I don't know, I have not really looked since I changed ISP. I use Netflix for my main TV watching. But that is only about 2.5GB per hour max.

I may reset the counter on my router and have a look after a week, that would give me a average. Next week might not be ideal as I am off work.

For what it is worth, my monthy limit is 10GB with BT and really cannot see any reason for asking for an unlimited tariff although I am tempted, as I would probably then watch more Youtube stuff.
I only use mine for surfing and have someone else in the house who uses a tablet.

I haven't downloaded a lot of data for a while now. I've got loads of stuff on disc to watch. If I needed more content, I'd probably download about 45GBs through the night. I've got a ton of stuff on disc to watch though. I don't think I'll need to go on a downloading spree for a while yet.

I come in at just less than 40GB each month, but I am on a 40GB limit with BT. I usually do about 1GB per day average then watch a few movies using the other 10GB.
