Does anyone have a transcript of what Maks said on twitter? I would have thought it would make more storm than it did :/

Alex https://twitter.com/alexsandernyc who runs dancewithmeusa https://twitter.com/dancewithmeusa ( He's the marketing director and Val's Best friend ) said something to the effect of course Alfonso the experienced dancer won. Val deserved to win more than anything and he kept RT on his personal account and their business account disgruntled Val and Janel fans tweets.

Teddy aka Ted (another one of Val's friend and member of the fam ) tweeted this little video of kanye west interrupting Taylor swift at the Vmas in regards to Alfonso AFTER he won. And its like a chain reaction, once of them tweet or RT it, the others do the same : Maks, Ted, Alex, Serge....all it does is that it makes Val look kind of bad.

    https://twitter.com/tedvolynets/status/537457690344452096

They deleted MOST of the tweets later and Maks and Alex tweeted just joking.

They did the same exact thing in season 16 when Zendaya lost to Kelly. I get it about being supportive of the " fam" but a little bit of professionalism would be nice.

And Val reaction when they came 3rd,. I've never seen him look so pissed, if looks could kill... I just think that he and his whole camp should handle the aftermath of these situations a little bit better. They come as childish and bitter.

Another thing, Val should give showmances a break. His fan base is extremely divided especially after this season and that doesn't do him ANY favors and hurt him as well as far as voting goes.
Derek fans do not ship him with anybody and they're really United ; What I mean by that is that they're fans of HIM first and foremost. Mark fans are the same.

The majority fans of Val are Valdaya fans ( people who liked him with Zendaya ). The other fans of his are people who liked him with Kelly and this season janel. The problem that he also had this year was that A LOT of his hardcore fans disliked his partnership this season mostly because of the showmance and ended up splitting their votes between Sadie and Alfonso; especially Sadie. I don't know how going into the next season things are going to play out regarding his fanbase. A LOT of them are ecstatic that Sadie beat Janel even though they like him while a few others are sad for him and janel. They're just fighting with each other at the moment even though they like the same pro... lol

Serge is the invited guest tonight on Afterbuzztv TV; Another member of the fam; I was going to watch it but after seeing that he is the only person that Krystin could booked (the people she wanted were not available ) I will give it a miss . He is the one who came to the show the other time and was throwing Sadie and Alfonso under the bus with his passive aggressive comments; And claiming that Sadie had dance lessons :o:confused: ....yeah right.

I want Val to take each day as it comes next season; relax; let things come naturally and stop trying to force a showmance ; if it comes then it comes but stop trying to fabricate something thinking that he will get you votes because the public sees right through it; He can win , he is talented but he needs a better approach on the next seasons. Janel was a great dancer; I watched them do their Samba today on GMA before Sadie and it was impressive ; if they didnt put too much pressure on themselves and forced a storyline , they could have given Alfonso a good run for his money.
Yes she may had been a better dancer than Sadie but Sadie was extremely likable (despite her family that some people cant stand) and her partnership with Mark was endearing to a lot of people; That's what made them come 2nd. Likability, Personality and genuine chemistry will ALWAYS take you very far in this show ;)

Ooops I didnt intend to be this long :o:o:blush:

Edy, I was a Janel fan but the way she conducted herself with her boyfriend and Val put me off a bit. I understand people split up and if they weren't right for each other that is fine, but it's just the way she was flirting with Val befofe and after the split that I thought was unfair on her boyfriend.

As you say, I think it worked against her and Val. Whether it was genuine or not, a lot of the fans loved it but others couldn't stand the flirting and it didn't ultimately do them any favours to be so polarising. In terms of dancing her and Alfonso were the top 2, but I wasn't shocked to see Sadie beat her on the night.

If they toned that aspect down or Janel was with another pro, I think she could have won. If she was with someone like Mark or Derek it would have been better for her. Val and Maks are a bit too desperate too win and put people off.

Will miss chatting to y'all. Hopefully we will do it again next season.

Its like our own Private Strictly forum on here.

Happy for Whitney. Alfonso not so much but he did amazing performances.

Sadie GODDESS making Final 2 <333 FABULOUS

Janel lost her spark throughout. Plus the association with Val hindered her. She deserved 3rd over Bethany though IMO.

See you guys next season :D. If I watch it...this is the first season I watched since season 16.

I'm hearing so many rumours already. Derek and Julianne cousin will be doing the show next season. This one I can believe especially because his name has been thrown around a lot in the past and he's usually in the audience.

Julianne and Len are confirmed to be back.
    It's Cheryl last season ;(
I heard that Mark might also leave...this one I don't believe because if Derek is doing it, then he'll be there and Derek already said that he'll be back.

Not sure if I can be bothered to watch the next season , but I guess we'll see.

Yes, probably see you all next season, although I always say I'm never watching it again, blah, blah, blah.

Glad for Witney and Alfonso, moreso Witney. I'm not surprised Janel and Val came in third, they shot themselves in the foot, with all the lip locking, ew. In their FS all I thought after the kisses were, you are not going to win. He wouldn't have won anyway without the smooching, Janel couldn't devote the time to train in the final week, so he was limited to the routines he could throw together. Think he was resigned anyway, so what the heck. He sometimes seems overshadowed by big bro and to be lead by him or makes decisions because his judgement is coloured by Maks, imo. What finally worked for Maks may not for Val. Don't think you should expect to win, you have to have the whole package and unfortunately, Val didn't this season.

Yes I thought Janel improved her foot and leg work, she was a great mover in the end, such a shame other stuff got in the way. I liked the Samba too, but was distracted all through the routine by that ruddy skirt. I wanted to take a pair of scissors to it, it looked like it was falling apart (I know it wasn't, just a bad design).

Ha edy, think Derek was probably being honest with Bethany, 'see ya'. Think it was only in the last couple of weeks she came out of her shell, but it was a little too late in the game. Some couples seemed to bond, others no so much.

I find myself speculating that a lot of the showmance aspect is producer driven. I recall that in past season for the All star season Tristan said he was given the option of having Kelly (who won her season and was a good dancer) if he would do the showmance thing with her and he refused (good for him, he had a girlfriend). She was given to Val and he played the game. They acted all romantic for the entire series and even after and within a few weeks nothing was heard from them again. Poof.

What is ironic is that I remember a celeb saying that they sign a release saying that they will NOT date their partner while in the competition. It makes sense because either a celeb or pro could be slapped with a sexual harrassment lawsuit if they were to cross that line. Imagine if Michael hit on Emma? There would be outrage and he would be in trouble with the bosses and the fans alike.

I believe the showmances are cooked up by the producers to gain more interest from young female fans who love to ship and get caught up in the partnerships actually becoming the real thing. A romance between a young couple falling in love is stuff of movies and novels. But it is rare especially in an environment like DWTS. There appears always be a producer and camera man with them at all times so pretty hard to actually be romantic. Just how does that happen? You would have spend time together outside of the training room and the cameras/producers. When would they get that opportunity? The married celebs don't have to deal with that tomfoolery of showmance.

Having said that you can see a genuine bond between some couples and it is wonderful to watch.

Yes I've always thought the producers were in cahoots, to generate publicity for the show. The two names that come to the fore as serial fauxmancers, are Val and Maks, whether they took it as part of the game/job is up for debate. It can work in a couple's favour, Julianne and Apolo spring to mind, they were the cutesy couple 'til the Samba week, then there was speculation of were they an item. With them there was always a good chemistry, so I tended to believe something could happen, even if it didn't. I loved their dances too, so it didn't matter whether it was true or not. Now I'm a bit older and wiser and a lot more cynical, after many a season. Good point Lili that they sign a release not to get involved, so there is a big contradiction, when fauxmances appear. Ha, if Janel and Val said, they were involved now, I would tend to take it with a big pinch of salt, he's cried wolf on more than one occasion.

Last thing Im going to add :blush:

As the seasons went by, Im liking Val even less; The fabricated showmance was a HUGE turn off for a lot of people and contributed to them finishing 3rd (below Sadie) ; not to mention that he was trying to recreate Maks &Meryl showdance..... Epic FAIL; Hard to think that I was rooting so much for him in season 16 with Zendaya; He showed his true colours over the past few seasons are they are not pretty; The look on his face when he and Janel came 3rd was priceless ; as if he couldn't believe it. His reaction to Alfonso after he won.....enough said

As if he couldnt make himself look even worse , his fam (Maks, dancewithmestudio Alex, Teddy..........had to tweet some pretty poor-showmanship tweets Last night AFTER Alfonso & Witney won; TACKY; They DELETED it though...even some of their fans were complaining about it and then Maks tweeted later after deleting that he was just joking ( yeah right ) .
Its not the first time that they do this though, They did the same thing after he and Zendaya lost; As much as I was supporting Zendaya that season, I found that whole charade embarrassing (as a fan of them AT the time ) , unnecessary and tacky.

You and your camp was not complaining last season when you had a ringer in Meryl. And the endless tweets this week about : lets bring it to the fam, do it for Val, lets have Maks have another brother trophy and acting as Janel was a second thought and just a means to their end was just Tacky; I dont even like Janel but geez acknowledge the girl at least.

He is a very good dancer and choreographer but he should 1-try to be less desperate to win (by showing it) 2- and most importantly understand how this show works; I still dont think that he gets it because if he did, he and Janel could have possibly beaten Alfonso or even finish 2nd. He should take some lessons from Derek & Mark, js.
No one understand more about this show like these 2; Derek KNEW before he and Bethany even danced Monday that he and Bethany were going to finish 4th; He knew it and saw it coming.

Loved when Sadie said in her speech that Alfonso deserved to win because he really did. I hope he can convince her and her parents to do a few tours dates like he promised :).

I have to disagree about Val's 'true colours'. I'll admit, at the beginning when the romance was starting with him and Janel, I didn't buy it. It was tacky. However, as the weeks went on, this passion was making her a better dancer. Val is certainly the best dancer on the show and up there with Mark and Derek being great choreographers. He always has his partner's best interests in mind. The Chmerkovskiy's are extremely passionate. I think Maks' tweet was a joke but I do understand how some may have seen it otherwise.

She has left sadly, Antonio was her last celeb partner she had one last season left on her contract and was going to sit out this season and take a break but Antonio wanted her as his partner and producers persuaded her to. Karina is either the same or has one/two more seasons as she sat out a season so no one knows if she is returning or not yet

I remember that somebody (here on Digital Spy I think?) said that they overheard some of the other pros saying that happened with Tristan (that he was offered Kelly if he'd do a showmance but he wouldn't) - but I'm almost 100% certain that Tristan has never said that himself. And I'm a world class cyberstalker, if I do say so myself

But I absolutely agree that the producers cook up the showmances and they tell the pros to cooperate (or else). I think that's why all the rest of Tristan's partners were duffers. Well, Dorothy might not have been but she came up lame in the first week. And she was called to join the show 3 days before the announcement so they didn't do any preparatory research on her - she was just an afterthought. (Gladys was similarly hired within several days of the launch - again, an afterthought casting)

I stand corrected then. I sure would not want to say anything that was not true.

Maybe because it's true - it's just that Tristan isn't the one who said it. Well, it rings true to me, and as they did with Alec (who asked for more money after Season 1 and was ever after punished for it) -- they treated him like dirt from the All Star (Kelly) season on. They ended up actually DOING a showmance with Kelly - only with Val instead of Tristan - and Val just completed yet another showmance this season with Janel (after his brother did one with Meryl last season) -- IMO, DWTS is disgusting...

But I just don't think Tristan would admit that even if it were true, as he'd probably get in trouble (I assume the overall Strictly/DWTS operation is run by the same people at the top level and they wouldn't like him tattling about their fauxmance shit)

Guess we'll never know for sure - and I can't even remember what poster said that she overheard that in the first place

By the way, do you remember where you got the info about the Tristan/Kelly situation? This has intrigued me greatly ever since.

I knew she was going to sit out this season before Antonio asked for her, so expected her to sit out season 20, but this sounds very final and her not coming back for good! (Then again, same was said for Maks...)

Have any of you read Louis' tweets. It looks like there is a good probability he will be asked back ffor season 20 and he says that he thinks that dwts is going to return to more classic ballroom. I hope so. Maybe more pros from the past??

Emma and Mike are tweeting, evidently she is spending the weekend in NC with him. It's kinda nice that they remained friends and still hang out. I suspect she may be at Daytona to support him in February if she is in the US. I always thought they had a genuine bond with each other (not romantic though) of the couples.

Even though they pushed Val and Janel connection to me the closest partnerships were Mike and Emma and Sadie and Mark.

I like seeing that because it bothers me when dance couples give that "we will be friends forever bs" and you know they will never ever spend any time together again.

That's interesting, Lili. I'd be very happy to see a return to more traditional dances - I'm not sure how much longer I can stick with the show in its current form!

If they bring back past pros, though, I do worry about my Artem being asked back... :(

Interesting article from Val. I can understand and empathise with lot of the things he is saying here, especially the part about how a celeb becomes their world for a few months and then it suddenly ends. That is what has always bothered me about DWTS and SCD - how a pro and celeb become so close and suddenly poof. And onto the next celeb that they "love" so much. It is hard to sort out what is genuine friendship and what is just for show. The business of show business. I have learned to accept that only in rare occasions does a real friendship or even relationship arise from that time together, however intense it appears from the outside. It is like actors in a movie role.

    http://www.glamour.com/entertainment/blogs/obsessed/2014/12/val-chmerkovskiy-opens-up-abou?mbid=twitter_glamourdotcom

However the part that I take issue with is his complaining that people want to know if he and Janel were involved in showmance or a romance. Surely there is a way to clearly distinguish to the public that this is a professional dance relationship and platonic friendship only. Kissing your partner on the lips, stroking and touchy feely and spending lots of time canoodling outside of the rehearsal studio don't exactly help if you want to the public to know this is strictly business only. And a simple yes or no to the question instead of the vagueness or "I don't want to answer that" would do especially if there is no romance. Maybe I am missing something??

Also the way he speaks of Emma you would think he was dating Emma. Dancer talk. :). Everyone is their bestie.
