It may just be me missing things, but I've not noticed the usual
  • xmas songs since october
  • as many houses covered in xmas lights
  • xmas adverts (other than DFS)

being thrown at us so early this year - I mean, it's 5 days to go, and I don't feel Christmassy at all.

Many churches are celebrating the birth of Nogbad the Bad instead of baby Jesus so that also is not so Christmassy

I think other things have distracted everyone really. Like the weather. There were only 2 of us with santa hats on at work today & it's a supermarket, so lots of staff. No one is getting in the spirit it seems :(

I agree, I think it's mainly down to the weather though. I haven't been driving around as much to see lights on houses and I think a lot of people haven't bothered with outside lights as much because of the snow. I also like to go out Xmas shopping, bluewater shopping centre always makes me feel christmassy, but have done most of it online this year because ive either been Ill or it's been snowing.

There don't seem to be as many Xmas ads on tv this year either, you're right.

I really don't give a hoot about christmas. All i care about is seeing my daughter open her presents, me getting my stuff and the dinner with the family.

I think its a mix of the weather and the fact that people just dont have the money to get into the Christmas spirit this year.

There's just a general malaise about it all.

Isn't that, um, Christmas? Surely without Christmas, you wouldn't experience all those things in the first place? It's like saying "I don't give a hoot about Bonfire Night. All I care about is the fireworks and the bonfire." ;)

It is snowing, the tree is up, all the Christmas T.V. is on! HOW CAN YOU NOT FEEL CHRISTMASSY! Tis' the most Christmasssy Christmass in the Christmassy History! :)

    I'm completely the opposite.

I usually can't stand Christmas, but what with the snow, it seems far more Christmassy to me this year and I'm not so 'bah, humbug' about it.

Nobody seems to care where I live. :(

I think the weather causing all kinds of problems and so many people being so ill with colds and flu have made people pretty apathetic to the whole thing.

There's definitely a lack of overly decorated houses this year - where are all the life-sized Santa and snowmen in people's front gardens? I've only seen a flicker of fairylights around where I live.

I will be feeling it at 5pm tonight when i finish for the holidays.

Cant wait. I havent wrapped any presents yet, and i always feel christmassy when wrapping and exchanging presents.

Christmas is what you make it.

I haven't noticed any change. The rat-race is the same as every other year, the shops full of the same awful songs... no, it's just as bad as always. :(

I think they are all in the garden of the family that lives a couple of streets from me. I swear they couldn't have fit another bulb or decoration on that house if they were paid to!

I feel the same. Weird isn't it? It just doesn't feel christmassy, even if we've had more snow.

    Yeah, its ironic really.

Snow on the ground doesn't actually feel very Christmassy

Someone should alert Alanis Morisette as it is a far better definition of irony than the ones in her song.
