finally got round to watching this last night , was really funny. better than last weeks i thought. i loved Jon catching the bubbles and the Sean picture.
Joe Wilkinson, who has now finally managed to hone his bit into something funny instead of annoying. ...The whole thing is scripted from start to finish, just look at the list of programme associates on the credits. They're basically the ones who write all the gags.
From the way some of the guests reacted to Rachel smashing a bottle over Joe Wilkinson's head I think that bit was kept a secret even though it would be scripted.
I agree with posters, there should be more seriousness, they know how to play the game, so there should less "how many letters/numbers" "what do I do know" type comments from the players.
Cut down the 10 min intro.
There should be the same amount of rounds as regular countdown since "8 out of 10 does..." is on longer

I get the impression that Sean really, really doesn't like the game
I expect he's happy enough to arse about because he has little time for the actual game.
It's then good that they pair him with someone who can give Jon a good game.
Having watched a few of the 8 out of 10 cats Countdown episodes, I saw the regular Countdown show this afternoon and thought wow, this is pretty boring.
That is the best bit. I agree with Sean Lock - I don't like this.
Bring back the proper topical one!
If you like countdownm, watch the normal bloody one!
You don't get Rachel doing the hula hoop on the regular Countdown.
I agree that Sean looks bored half the time, he has no time for situations where he looks educationally inferior, his appearances on QI have been marked by his combative and disruptive attitude. He makes Jon seem easy going.
I think he's a very funny bloke but he seems hard work to get on with.

Poor Sean, dragged on to this show against his will.

Nina Conti is in my opinion.

No I wasn't sat right at the front but I was the lady with the white stick
Just introduce guests, then play the game!
15 mins in and the game hasn't started.

I find it odd the fuss people make of her. It's like she's not even white.
